rambling.

tonight i am having one of those, 'love your kids so much i didn't even want to put them to bed' moments. sometimes i read some other mom's blogs and i am in awe at how much it seems they love their kids, and honestly just how great of moms they are! i think- man, i should be better. Lucy gets me SO frustrated sometimes, and I wish I was more patient and more loving. Now- truth be told, Lucy does drive me absolutely crazy sometimes. I have no idea how to get her to listen some days, and it's just awesome when she chooses to go to time-out all on her own instead of doing what mommy asks her to do. She has my personality almost exactly, and is just so funny, and stubborn. I know I hit the jack-pot with my kids-- seriously. Lucy is the cutest little girl in the whole world, and is so social and such a joy to be around. She loves all other little kids and for the most part is a great 'sharer' and just loves to make people happy. Clara-- ah, words cannot descri...

the first 13.1

so I ran my first half-marathon on Saturday! I ran the Hobble-Creek Half, up in Mapleton/Springville, and it was awesome! Other than waking up at 3:20am.... The course is almost all down the most beautiful canyon, and almost all downhill. It was so much fun, and a lot easier than I expected it to be. Training really has payed off! Let's hope I can just be ready for St. George in 5 1/2 weeks! My time was 2:02 I thought I would be closer to like 2:10-2:15, so I did better than I thought. I still run slow though.  I actually ran with this cute girl from about mile 5 to the end, and she kept me going. That helped a ton. I think a half-marathon was perfect for me, and I'm excited to do more! Don't be fooled- my dad really didn't finish with me, he just came back to finish with me after he finished like 35+ minutes before me.... he had to get this long run in before the marathon! =) just looking awesome... Of course- my dad won his ...

somehow we ended up at the fair twice last week! both thursday and friday night! Thursday we went with tyler's family and our good friends Marcus & Michelle, and Friday night went again with Jen & Jake, Chase & Katie, Lindsey & Mike, and Rand & Madison we love the fair, and I love homemade doughnuts and all the fabulous food. Lucy loves the boat ride and the petting zoo. Tyler loves the crowds. =) The girls- jen, katie, me, lindsey, and madi chase and ty-- supervising the boat ride for little Lucy and Tate. lucy sporting her broken arm and cowboy boots. Love her. these two love their papa. little blake was fearless and got her face painted like a tiger- awesome. and rode the super fast train roller coaster ride! She also has her own motorcycle. There is no way Lucy can keep up with that girl. Haha. Lucy's favorite ride of all time. The Boats. and can I just say... Clara is seriously the sweetest...

mother of the year award

just hangin out at DQ to see Uncle Kyle before he left for college down at Dixie! i was just thinking. no one in my immediate family has ever had to have a cast for anything-- Huh. Looks like we are starting a new trend Lucy! Lucy broke her arm last Tuesday, 8/16/11-- while we are at the park and splash pad with our ward. She went over to play at the park for a minute with some older little girls, and I thought I should probably walk over there and check on her, because she is rather fearless. Just as I walk over there she is climbing up to swing on a bar-- it's about 4-5' off the ground, she gets on and starts swinging and just slips off and landed on the ground on her arm. I was probably 2 feet away from her. I didn't think to even try to catch her, because if you know Lucy you know she falls like it's her job, and she is seriously tough as nails. Right away I knew something was wrong- she started just sobbing and would not stop for anything. She usua...

cabin fever

Image
we spent the weekend up at tyler's aunt cheryl and uncle stan's fabulous cabin their cabin is in the la sal mountains up above moab-- this is my 2nd time going, and we just LOVE it up there! This isn't a 'second home in the mountains' type cabin, it's a real cabin. So this was Lucy's first experience camping really-- she Loved it. Besides throwing some truly amazing tantrums when it was time for bed, and then some.... bless her cute heart.... she was in heaven playing all day, and we were in heaven eating the best food EVER cooked on a wood burning stove, and had a great time. Thanks for letting us come! cheryl, bonnie, and julie ty and his cousin mark the little cabin- we stayed here last time, but mark and his family stayed down there this time uncle stan- love him. the girls having fun with their glow sticks- blake got her very own motorcycle helmet, so lucy of course had to wear one too. ...
