hallow's eve!

Image
Tomorrow is the big day! Do I have a costume yet? No. Am i worried? Yes. As to some other BIG news- my parents sold their house! Ah! (They have a lot in west kaysville, but until the house is built are renting down in those colorful farmington town homes- they have to be out December 1st.. it's kinda sad, yet exciting!) But along with this transition, they have a storage unit, and apparently that is where all the dress ups are! dang. that has been my costume headquarters for the past 5 years. or more. any ideas are welcome! Here is a peek a Lucy's costume..... She is a 'Cabana' Girl and won 3rd place at our ward party this week! So did my 'corn cake'. It's really supposed to be cornbread, but all it is is a cornbread mix mixed with a yellow cake mix. So really it's cake. Maybe thats why everyone liked it so much? Go figure. Life has been just fabulous lately! Tyler is busy busy with school. He is really wanting to get his MBA at one of the top ten school...

Welcome to the Jungle!

Image
This past week was a busy one! I swear I either have nothing going on and I wonder to myself whatever am I going to do with myself all winter-- or I am super busy! I was in charge of a relief society breakfast Saturday, then my 'cheerios' were in charge of Sadies that night so we decorated for 4 hours, and then had the kickin' dance. The girls and their parents always do such an awesome job decorating! Their theme was 'Welcome to the Jungle'. Look how cute! They always take the 'Peer Tutor' class every year as well. Only a few of them came this year, but they always think it is SO cool to go to one of the dances! Lucy was not quite sure how she felt about the balloons. Loved them. And terrified. All at once. Lucy is now officially 8 months old! Ah! I can't believe my baby is so big! She is rolling all over the place, and has quite the little army crawl down now! She is trying SO hard to crawl, it's so cute. She stills sleeps so good- from about 9-9. ...

THRILLER

Image
Hello hello! Last night the girls (and my dad...) saw Thriller! I haven't seen it for YEARS. I have been wanting to go for a while now, and wasn't let down... anything with dance is usually SO entertaining for me. LOVED it. The girls with a dancer.... Can-Can and I My dorky parents and Cheryl.... And in case you forgot... How cute is Lucy? I love her!

the COULD have been.. King size bed.

So it's 9:00am. I just got home from cheer, and was hoping to climb back into bed for a little while with cute Lucy, but instead i walked in the door and heard a squeal of delight from my cute daughter sitting on the living room floor looking up at me with the biggest smile on her face! {literally- she squeals now. who knows where this came from?} How could I be upset about sleep after seeing that?Ah, she is so cute. Now anyway- because nothing eventful has gone on, I am going to tell a story, and it all begins with the damn birth control I started taking before we got married- yes i said damn. I mean honestly- who feels good about their birth control? Seriously? (this may be inappropriate- but im going to say it anyway. We have never tried to use a condom.... weird? Yes. I just started a new birth control and it's ok, but I think life without it would be better, but just never have tried to use anything else because... one of Tyler's good friends said that using a condom -...

Fall Break Fun!!

Image
We enjoyed the fabulous weather up in Kaysville this weekend! It is always nice to spend time with both of our families (if you didn't know they live literally like 2 blocks from each other...) and I also got to go to dinner with my cute friend Megan , and me and Ty hung out with our good friends Porter and Erika . We did a whole lot of nothing all weekend and it was great. We did make it to the temple Saturday afternoon! Other than the lady 'sniffling' next to me throughout the whole session... haha.... it was great. I know some of you have probably heard me say this, but I would love to spend the night in the temple someday. I think it would be the best nights sleep ever!! What do you think? We are in need of cheap dates/activities. With Ty only working part time now and going to school full time.... and if you can even count my job a job... well... we're currently poor. But who isn't right? Anyway- Ideas for cheap dates? Friday, My mom, Candace and her friend Car...

Lucy is almost 8 months old. Crazy. Here are some recent random pictures of Lucy's life... Here she is doing her latest trick. It's usually more of a perfect 'push up' position, but she decided to stick her butt up in the air a little farther. She wants to crawl SO bad! she is so close- until then though, we'll enjoy her push-ups. Tub-a-lub-dub. Lucy in the tub. She LOVES those little bath toys I bought her. {Confession: tonight Lucy was getting in the tub with her dad like always, and I decided to join- making it a 'family tub'. If you have been in our bathroom, you KNOW our tub is not very big. Needless to say, Lucy had fun playing with mom and dad in the tub, and mom and dad had fun squirting each other with Lucy's toys. So much for not getting my hair wet...} My Keys may be the sole purpose Lucy learns to crawl. I thought Lucy always slept on her back.. I guess not! mamamamama and Lu-bean.

on my mind...

i'm up in kaysville today. Cheryl had a dentist appointment up, so lucy and i hitched a ride up here to spend the day with her and my mama. Ty had work today and was going to the jazz game tonight, so he'll be up tomorrow. We are planning a trip to the temple this weekend and have headed north to where our trusty babysitters are (aka- grandma and grandpa). and ok, im admitting it- we haven't been since January. how awful is that? our stake is doing this program 100% for 100 days, which includes: daily personal/family scripture study and prayer, tithing, fhe, temple once a month, visiting teaching, etc... It's funny how all these things should be so basic and should be habbits in our lives, but seem to sometimes only get done really consistantly under a challenge. obviously the goal of this is to make these things more steady and constant in our lives, and i hope that is the case. whenever i realize i am kind of in a 'rut' of somehow, im always missing out on ...

happy columbus day.

Image
in case you didn't know.... today is columbus day. i didn't know. our bank is very inconveniently located in south provo- why we bank there? no idea. i made the trek down there, only to realize it was closed for the holiday. if the banks are closed- i think the schools should be too. what do you think? lucy and i had a wonderful day cuddling in bed in the morning- like always. doing laundry. She got buried in my sheets somehow- {those got thrown in last minute because she peed on them...} and just running errands. have i mentioned i love being a mom? its the best!

weekend festivities and wannabes.

Yes, I know. the weekend is not yet over- but for some reason i have been on a blogging kick lately, and whatever, I'm just taking advantage of it so I will have some memories of my cute Lucy when she was little. Today we went over to Cheryl's Kyle's apartment to meet their cats. Lucy LOVES animals! This is 'Filbert'. He was terrified of Lucy after she grabbed him by the fur and tried to eat him. And this is Ziggy. She also wasn't too fond of Lucy, but just wanted her sparkly toy. She also played with her friend Sunshine this morning! We babysat her for like an hour or so. They are in our ward. They were so funny together. Lucy also got to play with her daddy. She LOVES him. and... last night we went to a thing at the institute. We had a speaker, dinner, and carving pumpkins. I really would go again, but i think we got the guilt trip of the century for not signing up for a class... Ooops. I know this is bad, but Tyler just does not have time for another class, a...

current loves..

Image
thank you neagle for my tie-dye onesie. I love it. Love, Lucy. So my Lucy is just darling. Last night my girls had a football game in Lehi... yes. Lehi High. How awful is that? Let alone- their dance team is called the 'Pionettes'- and I thought being a dart was a bad mascot? Anyway. Tyler had school, Cheryl had Parent Teacher conferences so I had to bring Lucy with me- (sidenote: they just changed the rules that now a coach cannot take their kids on the district buses, so the school officer also had to ride the bus with my cheerleaders.) So i meet the girls at the school, get them on the bus, follow them to Lehi, and then tyler calls me as im getting off the exit for lehi that he is now done with his test and can have lucy, too bad he drives an 88' honda accord that doesn't really work i the car... so i get there, wake Lucy up to put her in the stroller, and it's FREEZING. ah, so I walk over to the visitors side and decide its too cold for Lucy, so I then drive her...

Are you HOT in 3 ways?

Image
Happy Birthday Kyle! 17!! Woo Woo... So a few years ago.. maybe even longer than that... ok, I think Kyle was like 7, but anyway, we were on a family vacation and Kyle exclaimed that he was 'HOT' in all 3 ways. You know like Hot, like it's hot outside, Hot, like he is extremely GOOD looking, and Hot, like... ya we're still trying to figure out what the third way is. WE love Kyle. He is so dang cute! Happy birthday little buddy.

Lucy Pictures.

I know I post SO overly many pictures of Lucy. But... I don't care. She is the cutest little girl ever! She is so so sweet. I love her rolling all over... getting stuck under the couch, and just trying so hard to move, but can't. She is the best baby ever... I fear having other children because she is so good! Trying to reach the camera! Sleeping all bundled up on our run the other morning. After the run. I love the color arrangement here. Haha. Reaching again. I love her concentrated face! New outfits from Grandma! I'm currently listening to 'Yeah' by Usher. Lucy is 'dancing' in her little jumper. It is so hilarious she loves it when I dance and sing for her. Some days I feel like I am putting on a broadway show all day long in my house! I always wanted to be a 'STAR' when I was little, I guess this is my shot! I think her favorite is when I dance to single ladies... If it wasn't SO weird- I would be Beyonce for Halloween. Maybe I can talk Tyler...

New Favorite Songs...

Two is better than one... Boys Like Girls & Taylor Swift and... I need you now... Lady Antebellum Awesome. I'm not nearly as into music as I used to be... isn't it funny how you kind of mold to how your spouse is? Tyler doesn't really love 'alternative' music, so I never listen to it anymore- as well as a lot of 'new' music. (Unless you count trying to be up to date on the latest music that high school girls listen to... so that I can try and choreograph dances that are 'cool'. haha...) Music is amazing though. Most love songs however remind me of crying my eyes out in high school just after a 'big break-up'. I know this is weird, but do you remember feeling so heart broken after a break up that your heart literally just hurt? I find myself now that I'm out of high school and now an 'adult' that I look at some of my cute girls with their boyfriends in high school and think how 'cute' their little relationships are. It...

St. George

Image
We just got back yesterday from a quick little trip down to St. George! My Dad was running the marathon for his 14th time! Unfortunately, I left my camera in the car when we went to the finish line to watch, but he did awesome! He ran a 2:58! It was so fun to be there at the finish line cheering on all those people who just ran their life away! I think someday I will run a marathon... I don't know when... but someday. It just has such a sense of accomplishment to it. I know it's crazy, but I want to say I did it! Our parents were nice enough to let us drive down with them, and we stayed at my grandpa's house down there. We just ate at the traditional 'China Palace' Friday night, and Saturday watched the race, grabbed some breakfast, me and Tyler took Lucy swimming, watched conference, and then My mom, Lucy, and I shopped while the men went to priesthood! We then ate at Outback and drove home Sunday morning. I seriously took 3 pictures while we were down there. Thes...
