an almost lake powell trip...
SO. We have been looking forward to going to lake powell in october, well... since pretty much January. As soon as both Amy and I were pregnant and due in the spring, and ben and carrie were moving, our annual June Lake Powell trip got made an 'adult only' trip.
Luckily Tyler, Clara, and I made it for a few days of that trip, but we have been dreaming about lake powell all summer!
the crosland fam decided to make this a smaller trip, so it was just going to be our little family, bonnie, jeff and jessi, amy and luke and their kids, and one of their friends' families.
Anyway-- to make a long story short-- the friend's that were supposed to come with us ended up bailing out friday morning around 10am-- we were supposed to leave at noon.
we tried to find someone else to go (we needed another man to help with the houseboat, because tyler was leaving the trip early for work) but we couldn't find anyone that last minute. no one could get work off without that much notice, etc... the trip was cancelled.
we were seriously all so so sad we couldn't go, but bonnie and jeff saved the day and we ended up spending the week up at the Mariott at Mountainside in Park City.
with some hasty re-packing-- we were literally all packed to leave for Lake Powell, we threw out some of the summer clothes and added in some winter coats and headed up to enjoy the beautiful fall weather.
We had a fabulous time just relaxing and hanging out as a family! We only had a few days with the whole family-- well minus Ben & Carrie, and Kevin--- but as close as we could get to the whole fam!
We spent Sunday afternoon at temple square and the girls had a blast running all over looking at the fountains, and we absolutely loved the children's exhibit at the church history museum!
it's like a free children's museum-- you must go!
Clara just playing with her Uncle Luke--- and the grandparents with cute Blake and Lucy!
oh these two... they are seriously the funniest little girls together.
Lucy just bugs little Blakey, and totally like tortures her all the time-- she just ADORES her cousin Blake and I think drives her crazy sometimes- they had such a blast together all week though. Lucy would do anything to hang out with her best friend Blake!
we had our 'boating hair' all done and everything- oh well, it was still awesome not doing Lucy's hair for a few days! =) She's such a cutie.
seriously- the church history museum was awesome!
i especially enjoyed dressing up and learning to dance mexican style.... ole! Haha.
4 little girls in a tub! such cute girls...
can i just say-- we LOVE living so close to amy & luke and our cute cousins blake and callie, i will be so so sad when we ever move!
we did some fun things at the hotel-- like painting ceramic elephant piggy banks! AWESOME!
and of course LOTS of swimming in the hot tubs!
we went to storytime at Dolly's Bookstore on Main Street in Park City and the girls loved it.
Some day I want a Library in my house... I love books.
Poor Clara was a little sick most the trip, still happy really-- just a fever and not sleeping the best. I was giving her a bottle in hopes that some extra milk might have her sleep better! She is seriously the sweetest little girl ever! She is still a little sick, but really just so sweet and happy still.
We really had a fabulous trip spending time with family, and I'm so glad we got to go!
We had SO much fun on the Alpine Coaster, I'll do another post on that later!
Thank you, Thank you Bonnie & Jeff!

Looks like a lotta fun!! Lucy's outfit at the temple is adorable!! and yours is way cute too! Let's get together soon missy!
ReplyDeleteI would be SO depressed if our Powell trip was cancelled like that! Our Hawaii trip just got cancelled and I'm so sad, but at least I don't have 8 more months of anticipation building up for it! I'm sorry. Looks like you guys had fun, though!
