one year older and back in the swing of things.
i wrote this last sunday... and am finally getting around to finishing editing the pictures a week later. It was also really late, and i was obviously in a weird mood. enjoy!
alas, i have reached the ripe old age of 26. now for many of you, this is not old at all. in fact, it may be refreshing to see the child bride grow in age. but for me, it means mainly- that i'm off of my parents insurance. bummer. i knew we should have tried to have a baby last year. we could have gotten one more in for free. but dang. two kids really took it out of us, you know? anyway. i have passed the age of adulthood, the age of freedom to drink- which means a whole lot to me, you know?-- and the age of being able to rent a car, and lower car insurance. but i'm pretty sure i didn't really achieve that last one. too many speeding tickets- dangit. and now i'm just getting older. but now that i'm older, it must mean that i am wiser too? yes? anyway. i've decided to blog tonight and just ramble on about what my brain is thinking.
we'll start with clara. tonight she poked the end of the 'Merida' arrow into her eye. and the inside of her eye is bleeding pretty badly. awesome. She was much more worried about her mosquito bites. (DANG THE FREAKING MOSQUITOS IN MINOT RIGHT NOW!!! HOLY COW. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED. THEY ARE TAKING OVER THE WHOLE ENTIRE CITY!!!) Anyway. We'll be going to see 'Georgia's dad' tomorrow. It pays to have a 3 year old bestie with an eye doctor dad. Way to have hook-ups Clara Mae! {Update: All went well! Eye just bruised!} ;-) clara is great. she is hilarious and fiesty. i'm teaching a few morning preschool gymnastics classes and she just joins in. she was now invited to join lucy's little pre-team class. She did great today- i now just worry she may pass up her big sister.... Eeek! That little girl is so strong and fear less. I love seeing her dangle out from the playground just holding on for dear life. She's got to learn eventually right!? Anyway. I totally got succored in to Joy School. I'm sure it will be fantastic, and Clara will love it, and I'm sure I will too. But my idea of 'pre-school' play dates were more like, "Hey! Here's a color, letter, and shape! Let's learn something!" and hey--- mom's go and get your grocery shopping done for a couple hours without your 3 year old. And now here I am doing a 'curriculum'. Ugh. Haha... I sound like such a downer. It's just that I am already so busy after school that it really has been awesome to have a couple mornings a week to just relax and hang out with my little Clara! I'm still trying to figure out a way to get out of it, but I think i'm roped in. At least until Christmas. Here's to hoping the kids don't get too far behind on the 'curriculum' when they're at my house..... (insert crying laughing face here....) i'm joking. sort of. also--- Clara skips. Whaatttt?? It took Lucy a good solid year of ballet, practicing at home, and Mr. Rinat working his very hardest to get cute 4 year old Lucy to skip. I still remember clearly the day she finally got it! She was definitely past 4 years old, and SO excited to have finally got something she had worked so hard on for so long! Clara has had one ballet class, and figured it out that night after class. NBD. She's a skipping sensation. I'm so proud.
my little lucy goose is loving Kindergarten! She is so sweet and innocent, I just love my little day-dreamer. I have been packing her a lunch and the other day she came home with her water bottle un touched. I asked her why she didn't drink her water, and she said she had a chocolate milk. She was SO excited! "Mom! You just tell them your name, and then they just give it to you!" I tried to explain that it costs money... and she was not having. "No mom! It doesn't even cost any money. You just have to tell them your name." Needless to say. She now has lunch money in her account, and some milk with her lunch. She is still pretty excited to hang out/talk about the 'other Lucy' in her class. She loves being called "Lucy C." and is pretty excited she gets to walk into school on her own now! Her teacher told me she sometimes has a hard time listening, but after being told a few times settles with an "Ok, fine...." I can just hear her little voice. She is so funny. She's had a little issue with lying lately as well. While we were in Utah she put her bracelet so far down her throat that she threw up all over her bed. She ran out to tell me she threw up and I was so confused because she was so alert/happy/not at all sick. I found the bracelet in the pile of dinner... awesome... She, however, refused to confess. She almost had me confess when Cheryl asked her one more time if she put the bracelet in her mouth... She said, "Fine... I'm lying..." We had a nice long chat about how we shouldn't lie, etc... etc... and through big tears I get, "But mom! I just really like lying!" Oh dear. We're in for it! She really is a big sweet heart who just lives in her own world. I love her so!
i have like this overwhelming love of Minot right now! After being away all summer, it feels so good to be home. August and September are always so gorgeous here. It's so green, and the weather is so perfect. I know it will be short lived, so we are trying to soak up the sunshine as much as possible. It just feels so good to be back with friends, and it just feels like home. We are in a different ward, which has been the hardest part, but really already it feels like it's where we are supposed to be and have already made some new friends. We're in charge of our Fall Festival, and Halloween Party. Two ward parties. Yay! Tyler's Elders Quorum Secretary... for like the 5th time. I swear callings follow you wherever you go. But they just called a new Primary President, and it's not me. So-- you know, Winning! And hey- the church is true wherever you go! ;-)
I have still not hung one thing on the walls, my house is a constant disaster. And i'm already so busy! Here's a peek at my week for all who care. (like you mom!)
Monday: Am- drop Lucy at school, have one hour before I teach. This morning I ran with Clara in the stroller. Then I teach gymnastics from 10-12. Home. Lunch. Shower. Clean up breakfast. Put away laundry. Pick up Lucy. Home- snack, change... drive to gymnastics. I teach from 4-5:30, the girls class is from 4:30-5:30. So convenient! Then I teach another class from 5:30-7:30. The girls are homeless for 2 hours... Not really. but sort of. Dad picks them up at some point- around 6? Gym rats for life!
Tuesday: Am- Lucy school, YMCA- yoga, gym, teach gymnastics at 11-12. Pick up Lucy from school and go straight to Ballet. Clara's class is 3:15-4, and Lucy goes with the beginners from 4-5. She is 'slowly transitioning' from Pre-Ballet 2 to Beginning. Whatever you say Mr. Rinat! In September we also usually have soccer games every Tuesday night. ;-)
Wednesday: Lucy school, Clara now has Joy-school from 9-11:30. So I'll probably be at the 'gym'/Target/sleeping (i wish) while she is there. Lucy has ballet from 4:15-5.
Thursday: Lucy school, YMCA- yoga, gym, we go to story time in THEORY (hasn't happened yet this year....) at 11. It really happens like once a month. That day we actually have a couple hours home before she has Children's Music Academy from 5:15-6:15. In theory Tyler is taking her so I can go home and make dinner. We can always dream right?
Friday: Lucy school, Joy School from 9-11:30. I'm hopefully going into Lucy's school Friday mornings, then one Friday a month I will be washing lunch tables and eating lunch with little Lu. and we have nothing after school = best day of my week.
Saturday: Run. Soccer games. Plan to accomplish things. Accomplish nothing, but maybe washing my hair. Which is a pretty big deal. Play with friends.
Sunday: Sleep. Church. Plan to actually finish accomplishing things you were going to accomplish yesterday, but take a nap instead.
And there you have it. It's a wonder I have nothing done. My laundry is still sitting on the couch waiting to be put away from last Wednesday. And I washed my hair Friday. with no plans of washing it again until Wednesday. But really I teach gymnastics? Does that require hair washing!? I really want another baby, but I'm not sure where nurse baby every 3 hours for 25 minutes fits in there. Huh. Maybe when Clara's 5. ;-)
I'm exhausted and a little sick at the moment. I better go to bed so I can wake up at 7am like I will every morning for the rest of my existance. Thank you Kindergarten! ;-) Life is beautiful. Thanks for humoring my nonsense.
And now for the pictures:

And now for the pictures:
Birthday date with this hot guy, and Jaymie and Mark. I kept wanting to have our server take a pic of us at dinner, but I just kept thinking about the BuzzFeed video "If guy best friends acted like girl best friends". Watch it. Hilarious.
My Birthday eve. Slept in and only ran 8 miles instead of 16. You win some, you lose some. ;-)
Jaymie and I went to lunch at Panera, then shopped all day! It was such a good birthday present from Tyler! We found Elsa dresses at JC Penny, spent WAY too much time in Sephora, found some cute cute stuff at Old Navy, and American Eagle, and somehow ended up sitting on the floor in Target.
and I was COVERED in glitter from Elsa dresses. Sheesh!
Jenny caught up with us at Souris River Brewery for dinner. Where we had the best photo bomber EVER. We ended the night with a late night at Jaymie's. I sure love these besties of mine!
I had a great low-key birthday! Breakfast in bed and presents from the girls and Tyler!
Church and then a wasp flew into our car and Lucy had a full blown panic attack. It was kind of hilarious. But after that I couldn't talk her into getting out of the car by the sunflowers for a pic! We missed the peak season, but they're still pretty pretty! ;-)
I love Minot lately. So green and beautiful! Please keep this up September! ;-)
Jaymie and family brought me over the most adorable delicious cake Sunday night! They're pretty awesome!
Labor day I went for an afternoon run, then we met the Noel's over at Roosevelt Pool for the last open day! It was a breezy 68 degrees, but it was empty and we had a blast!
Tyler even dove in... say what??
After it closed we hung around to watch the Dogs take over the pool! All the kids were so excited! We ended the night going out to Pizza at the Spicy Pie!
Tuesday started the color weeks at Kindergarten! I should have taken a picture everyday, but I think my favorite was Red day. I love this little girl!
Tuesday Clara also started Ballet! She wasn't so sure she wanted to do it, but she has been sitting at the door watching for the last 2 years and practicing everything Lucy does at home! I'm glad I talked her into trying it just for the first day, because she hasn't stopped talking about it since! She absolutely loves it! and I can't get over how cute her and Georgia are!
Lucy got to go in and be the special helper in Clara's class! So fun!
Luch also had her first soccer game that night! Cute Emma is on her team! Love these two!
after all those things starting the next day Clara was exhausted I had to trick her into taking a nap with me. It's been pretty fun having her all to myself all day!
Also my little gymnastics buddy! She is so so strong! She is now going to 4 classes with me a week! Haha!
and after one ballet class Clara came home skipping! It took Lucy a full year of ballet and Mr Rinat and everyone really helping her before she finally figured it out! Clara has now been skipping everywhere! So funny how different they are!
Found this gem! Lucy starting school at ages 3, 4, and 5! Ah she's so cute!
The girls also got to go to Ruby's 5th birthday party!
oh, today was Lucy's green day at school!
I loved watching the few girls who wanted to get their face masks done! It was so funny!
cute girls- Eva, Ruby, Lucy, Emma, Clara, Julia, and Aspen.
We love you Ruby Sue!
Saturday I think I finally got a long run in- it's been a rough training year.... but oh how I love the Burlington trail. It's just so pretty this time of year. If you ever come to Minot- come in August or September!
That night we did a fun Progressive dinner at the Amsbury's, then Jacob's, and then Noel's! It was so much fun. We have 20 kids between the 5 of us!
Kami, Jaymie, Tera, Jenny, and me.
I can't get over how cute Jenny's belly is! She is still so tiny everywhere, then this huge cute belly! Can't wait for baby Emma to get here!
We've been trying to get out on our bikes while we can!
and cute Clara and Georgia. They seriously played all day this week and I didn't hear a peep from them at all!
Hopefully I'll get caught up this week. September has been beautiful, and so much fun, and yet filled with so much busy-ness! It feels good to get back into a routine, we're just busy!
and have I mentioned we have the best friends ever up here? We sure do! ;-)
