Clara Mae!

So sorry for the picture overload- but believe it or not our little Miss Clara Mae is already here!
I went into my doctors appointment on Wednesday the 27th at 3pm, and my blood pressure was up again.  I was going to see if they could start me Friday, but because my blood pressure was high Dr. Bean wanted me to do some lab work that day, then start me that next day- Thursday. I asked him if I could just be started tonight because I really didn't want to have a bunch of lab work done- Blah!
It turns out he was on call that night, and he was the one who delivered Lucy, so I really wanted him to deliver Clara too- and everything just worked out!
I left the doctors office- called Tyler to come home from work early, finished cleaning the house and packing our bags- I sent Lucy with Cheryl to head up to Grandma Bonnie's house, and Tyler and I headed to the Timpanogus Hospital about 6:30pm!

I was nervous about delivering at Timpanogus, only because I found out like 2 weeks ago I had to deliver there because this insurance i have isn't accepted at American Fork- but i had the greatest nurse ever- Tarah, and had a great experience there.
I survived all of the hardest parts- aka- I got there and she did my IV- and I got started on Pitocin at about 7:30pm, I then got my epidural, so I honestly never felt any hard contractions at all.
Love drugs!
My mom got there at about 8pm and we just hung out for a couple hours- watched American Idol, etc..... Dr. Bean finally came in at 10:30pm and broke my water, and the waiting game began!
When I got there I was dilated to a 2.5- and I think at like 11pm I was finally a 4.
We were all kind of thinking it was going to be a long night- but at midnight she came and checked me again and I was at a 5.
Clara's heart rate was going up and down, so Tarah put me on oxygen and just stayed in the room for a while while i switched positions and such.
I started feeling a lot more pressure, and just started to feel kind of sick and gassy- TMI- sorry.
By 12:30 it was feeling better to push, so Tarah came and checked me again- it was so funny she came up and said, "Give me Five!" holding her hand up- I was so confused, I was like, wait, I'm still only a 5?? but She said, "No- give me 5, you are there and about ready to push!"

I can't explain it- but everything this time around was just so calm and relaxed.
With Lucy it was all of the sudden 10 people were in the room, they had the C-section room ready, my epidural had totally worn off, the doctor had to use forceps to get Lucy out, and I was totally screaming bloody murder as I was pushing Lucy out.

This time- Tarah slowly went and got Dr. Bean. They brought in all the trays, the pediatric nurse came in- and then Dr. Bean.
That was it- only like 3 people in there!
Tyler really doesn't do blood- so he still sat off to the side in a chair- Love him- and my mom just watched from the side- but it was all so calm and relaxed!

I started pushing at about 1am, and we were joking that Clara could have the same birth time as Lucy- which was 1:23am, Dr. Bean said she probably couldn't wait that long and I was so surprised! Everything was seeming way to easy!
I only pushed for like 10 minutes, and I honestly could not feel anything!
Nothing. I could just feel pressure so I knew when to push- but holy crap- drugs are amazing.
I mean- props to all you women out there going all natural-
really. I think it's awesome.
but really- it was so awesome that I didn't feel a thing-
before I knew it miss Clara Mae was born at 1:13am!
She was perfect!
They got me all taken care of and Tyler just got to sit and hold Clara for a while-
I then got to nurse her- which is SO much easier the second time around- I mean my milk hasn't come in yet, and that's when it gets tricky- but still.... so much better this time!
They then came in and gave Clara her bath and everything right in the delivery room before they moved me down to the post-partum room.

my nurse- Tarah.

I seriously cannot get over how EASY it was this time around.
Holy cow!
Knock on wood I know- that probably means i have the baby from hell coming my way, but still-
it was so calm, and I'm so happy it's all over with and that she is healthy and happy!
I think she has a totally different look than Lucy- 100%. But she is so perfect!

Lucy was seriously overjoyed to meet Clara! She just loves the 'baby', and wants to hold her all the time!
It's so dang cute! I can't believe how big Lucy is next to Clara though!

Clara always makes the funniest faces ever- she kind of looks like Benjamin Button sometimes. Haha... Love it though! She is a sweetie pie.

We really only had one full night in the hospital- I sent tyler home with Lucy and i stayed with the baby and watched the Royal Wedding when she got up to eat in the middle of the night! Haha.
We came home this morning and are doing great!
We love miss Clara Mae, and our 2 little girls!
