We would like to welcome our sweet little girl Lucy to the world! It was an eventful entrance she made and we're glad she is finally here and perfect!
My water finally broke Tuesday afternoon so we went into the hospital about four and they decided to start me on pitocin since other than my water breaking not too much was going on-- after being on pitocin for about a 1/2 hr I was ready for my epidural! ((again- Im not quite sure how people do this naturally- I only had 30 minutes of real contractions and was ready for all the needles in the world!) The epidural was wonderful- I highly recommend it!! Well-- at midnight I had pretty much stalled out at being dialated at a 4.5--so the doctor came in and said that basically if I hadn't dialated in the next little while much it was most likely that they were going to do a C-section-- so for the next hour me, Ty and my mom just prayed that I was dialating, and I was having a ton more pressure. So @ 1 am the doc came back and gave us the great news that I was now dialated to a 9.5-- all in an hour! Just after he left little Lucy's heart rate dropped dramatically and all of the sudden the nurses were running around flipping me left and right, etc... the doctor came back in a couple minutes later, and told them to get the C-section room ready just in case. Just then he told me to get ready to start pushing, and 10 minutes later we had Lucy!! It was all pretty chaotic, and I thought poor Tyler was going to pass out (he was sitting off to the side with his head down through the entire thing... =)), but after everything Lucy was a little pale so Tyler was down in the nursery with her for a few hours before I really got to see her, but she is doing great now and we're planning on coming home tomorrow! She is beautiful- obviously we are a bit biased as we are her parents- but we are so excited she is finally here!!
