go, orem, go!

Image
this friday was orem's homecoming game, so we made the trek back down to utah county to see my girls perform, and to see all my cute senior girls that graduated! it was SO good to see my beautiful girls, and to just be their friend, and not their coach anymore! I seriously had the best team last year, and i love these girls to death. Lucy was in heaven seeing the cheerleaders again, and loved trying to find the tiger mascot through the whole game... she is such a babe. me, my good friend and assistant coach last year, Brooke, then Sariah, Cassidy, and Brooke. Love these girls. I've coached Sariah and Cass since they were sophomores, and it's crazy they are in college now!

the temple.

Image
lucy has been VERY intrigued, to say the least, by the temple ever since we moved now that she can see it everyday that we drive to grandma's! we finally took her up to see the temple in person this week, and she loved it! we walked all around the bountiful temple and the beautiful grounds. lucy's favorite part was the fountain... of course. we had a great time, and are hoping to take her to see more temples this year!

zoo time.

Image
so, i have decided since lucy is not quite old enough for pre-school or any of that 'big-kid' stuff yet, that we are going to do a fun 'field-trip' every week this fall/winter. here's to holding me too that.... this week we went to the zoo with our cute friends michelle and izzy, and brooklyn and her cute kids macie and william. lucy thought the zoo was awesome, and we even had to go back to see the elephants twice. it was unfortunate however that the zoo does not have horses. guess we'll have to go to papa's farm to see those! =) cute izzy and lucy trying to get a glimpse of the baby elephant! macie is so dang cute! the girls. just hangin out'. love them! we LOVE the carousel. i somehow missed getting a cute picture of brooklyn! next time girl.. don't you worry. and the train.... 'choo-choo'! we had a blast. what are you favorite places to go when the pools close? let's hear...

the end of summer.

Image
so so sad summer is over. but i have to admit- i am kind of excited for somewhat of a routine again. we seriously have eaten dinner at our house something like maybe 5 times all summer- no joke! and don't get me wrong, I love all the free food and no cooking, but i'm looking forward to some normalcy. fall means football games! candace is now a super-fabulous-'ya'-yelling-d'ette, so we went to watch her perform at her first home game! (uhm, i just found out that high school football games are $6 freaking bucks a person to get in. i have never had to pay once to get into a game, so this is news to me. outrageous i tell you! outrageous!) but look how cute little clara is! please excuse the sweat glistening on my face, it was approximately 1,000 degrees outside with 1 billion people squished together on the stands. awesome. our friends porter and erika are in town again before they move, so we went boating last weekend. if i haven't mentioned it befo...

4 Months Old!

Image
C-dog is now 4 months old! (August 28th!) (yes, tyler starting calling her C-dog, and now I catch myself calling her that all the time, how awful is that? Lucy even said the other day, 'Hey, C-gog!" shoot.) Can you even believe I'm posting this picture without a bow on her little bald head? I'm pretty sure she had just pooped all over everything and is now wearing the back-up jammies I keep in my diaper bag. Anywho. Clara is just the sweetest little girl ever. I know I keep saying that, but she is such a little sweetie! She seriously smiles every time someone looks at her, and is such a good sweet little babe. Here are her stats from Dr. Doug's office last week: Weight: 14 lbs 5 oz- 67% Height: 24.5 inches- 60% Head: 41.6 cm- 68% She isn't really that fat, but she is so chunky and has so many rolls I just love it! She has the most amazing chubby cheeks, and is just so soft and cuddly. I love my chunky babies. Clara is now fi...

rambling.

tonight i am having one of those, 'love your kids so much i didn't even want to put them to bed' moments. sometimes i read some other mom's blogs and i am in awe at how much it seems they love their kids, and honestly just how great of moms they are! i think- man, i should be better. Lucy gets me SO frustrated sometimes, and I wish I was more patient and more loving. Now- truth be told, Lucy does drive me absolutely crazy sometimes. I have no idea how to get her to listen some days, and it's just awesome when she chooses to go to time-out all on her own instead of doing what mommy asks her to do. She has my personality almost exactly, and is just so funny, and stubborn. I know I hit the jack-pot with my kids-- seriously. Lucy is the cutest little girl in the whole world, and is so social and such a joy to be around. She loves all other little kids and for the most part is a great 'sharer' and just loves to make people happy. Clara-- ah, words cannot descri...

the first 13.1

Image
so I ran my first half-marathon on Saturday! I ran the Hobble-Creek Half, up in Mapleton/Springville, and it was awesome! Other than waking up at 3:20am.... The course is almost all down the most beautiful canyon, and almost all downhill. It was so much fun, and a lot easier than I expected it to be. Training really has payed off! Let's hope I can just be ready for St. George in 5 1/2 weeks! My time was 2:02 I thought I would be closer to like 2:10-2:15, so I did better than I thought. I still run slow though.  I actually ran with this cute girl from about mile 5 to the end, and she kept me going. That helped a ton. I think a half-marathon was perfect for me, and I'm excited to do more! Don't be fooled- my dad really didn't finish with me, he just came back to finish with me after he finished like 35+ minutes before me.... he had to get this long run in before the marathon! =) just looking awesome... Of course- my dad won his ...
