4th of July Weekend!

We had an awesome 4th this year! We hadn't been in Kaysville for the 4th of July for the last 2 years, so it was SO good to be there! Despite what anyone says... Kaysville's 4th of July festivities are the best out there! Tyler didn't have to work on friday either, so we drove up to K-town thursday night watched SYTYCD (Sad to see Karla go!), and then hung out all day on the Friday with Porter, Erika, and Casey and Nichole. We went to lunch, and shopped, and spontaneously we got Lucy's ears pierced! Yes- Call me a 'baby torturer' if you will, but it was spur of the moment, and im glad we did it! It was so easy and she seriously cried for like 3 minutes- thats it. And they haven't bothered her since! And they are SO cute! We then enjoyed the Eaglewood fireworks with our friends...

I successfully completed my 10k on Saturday! I feel so out of shape, but I actually did better than I thought! I finished in 1 hr and 51 seconds! I run pretty slow, (I think i averaged like 9:45 minute miles), but I did faster than I normally run! My dad only finished like 20 minutes in front of me. Haha. I will never run that fast- I'm not racing in order to be a competator, just to finish! =)

    You are right...there is NO better place than KAYSVILLE on the 4th! Lucy's peirced ears are so adorable...I love them! What a cute family :)

    Car! Lucy is such a doll!! Holy cow she is adorable! They grow so fast. I still can't believe I have never even seen her in person :( So sad! It stinks being this far away from everyone. Looks like you guys are having a fantastic summer! We all need to plan something for when I get back. I've got to meet baby lucy!

    Your definately right about one thing, the 4th is the best in Kaysville by far! Im sad we weren't in K-town this year..the 4th is my favorite holiday (and Christams of course). Lucy looks adorable as always, you need to tell Quinn hi for me next time you see him..I havent talked to him in forever! GO YOU for running that 1oK, under 10 min is awesome. Love ya Car, we will get together when im back from NY!

    Just did a little catching up on your blog. I love all the pictures of your little family. You look so grown up! Way to run a 10K. I haven't even been pregnant and I don't think I have the motivation to do that! We were also up in K town for the fourth and we were walking around Jon's old neighborhood and he showed me a house and told me that one time him and Tyler decided to invite themselves over to go swimming. Apparently they just went out in the backyard and started swimming while the owners were inside. Sounds pretty typical for back then but it made me laugh!

I still can't believe my little Clara-bear-a is old enough to be in Kindergarten! She has absolutely loved it. These two are pretty adorable walking to school every morning together! Another great soccer season! Tyler was roped into coaching Clara's team again and wins at the best dad and coach ever! He even took Rex with him to a bunch of games and coached while Rexy was strapped to him in the baby carrier! Dad of the year! (I was at piano lessons with Lucy!) hello!

it's me! I'm back. I have missed writing, so here I am. writing. so very much has happened since I first began this blog back in 2008! ah! almost 10 years ago. Time has seriously flown. I feel like I am a completely different person, and yet still exactly the same. Maybe just a little more perspective? That's a good thing right!? our family is still living the dream up here in North Dakota. We thought we were maybe coming up here for a year, and five and a half years later..... here we are! our kids have truly grown up here. Lucy is eight. Yes, eight! She has gotten to tall and gangly. She is wild and free, full of light, and joyful. Clara is six. She is full of FIRE, spice, and quite a bit of sass. She is fiercely loyal, tender, and a snuggler. Lucy is finally here!!

Lucy Jane Crosland February 25, 2009 1:23am 6 lbs 12 oz 18 inches long We would like to welcome our sweet little girl Lucy to the world! It was an eventful entrance she made and we're glad she is finally here and perfect! My water finally broke Tuesday afternoon so we went into the hospital about four and they decided to start me on pitocin since other than my water breaking not too much was going on-- after being on pitocin for about a 1/2 hr I was ready for my epidural! ((again- Im not quite sure how people do this naturally- I only had 30 minutes of real contractions and was ready for all the needles in the world!) The epidural was wonderful- I highly recommend it!! Well-- at midnight I had pretty much stalled out at being dialated at a 4.5--so the doctor came in and said that basically if I hadn't dialated in the next little while much it was most likely that they were going to do a C-section-- so for the next hour me, Ty and my mom just prayed that I was dialating, and I ...
