Grandma comes, Minneapolis, and Tyler turns 30!
My cute mom drove back to ND with me, so Tyler and I could escape to Minneapolis for the weekend to celebrate his 30th birthday! We had hopes of going to Mexico, but alas... expired passports, and really just not getting our crap together led us to postpone that trip, and we opted for a mini vacation instead! We took off Thursday evening to Fargo, then Friday morning drove the rest of the way into Minneapolis! It's such a gorgeous city! I was still pretty exhausted from our trip home from Utah and a little sick, but we still had so much fun. We did the Mall of America Friday!
My favorite was the American Girl store... Sigh... and we had fun just walking around, and eating lots of good food!
Saturday morning we headed to Uptown to eat some amazing breakfast/cinnamon rolls and spent the morning/afternoon walking around Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles. There are lakes EVERYWHERE and they all have these gorgeous walking paths around them. It was such a beautiful day, and felt so good to just relax and take our time! Even if Tyler did put in way more miles than he was ever planning on! ;-)
my outfit is stellar-- love my 90's sweatshirt around the waist!
We ate at the most amazing pizza place for a late lunch, then headed back to our hotel to get ready for the evening.
We had hopes of walking around downtown Minneapolis, but most of the shops closed early, and lets be honest, we were probably in the wrong area of town, and were way too tired from all of our walking earlier to explore too much! Haha. We found an incredible restaurant though, and loved, loved our food. Food. That's pretty much how I vacation!
Minneapolis is HUGE, and absolutely gorgeous. I would more there in a heartbeat! I feel like we didn't even scratch the surface in the few days we were there!
It was such a nice relaxing, low-key trip! I'm so glad we finally made it there after living so close for the past 3 years! Thanks mama!
We had a couple more days before my mom had to leave, and we filled them with lunch dates, chick flicks, and basically her watching me coach gymnastics! She's such a good sport. Love you mom!
Love all of these cute girls on our little 'pre-team'. Even if my own girls are a little crazy, I'm pretty lucky to be their coach!
More fun Spring days! Swimming with Clara, and playdates with Ruby after school!
My favorite side-kick!
So much fun at Lucy's school's 'Fun Night'!
Lulu's cute classroom door. She has absolutely loved Kindergarten! I thought I was going to die having her in school all day, but truthfully, the day goes by so so quickly! And she loves it!
Yay for warmer weather!
and Tyler's actual 30th birthday! He is seriously the best. I had to teach yoga that morning, and Lulu had ballet, but after that we spent the afternoon at the park together as a family, opened presents, and then him and I went out to dinner with all of our friends! (That were in town anyway!)
These girls sure love their daddy! We went on our trip for his birthday present this year, but he opened up the clothes we got him in Minneapolis, and a few other random things and gift cards. He's pretty easy to please. I love him!
We had so much at dinner seeing our friends! Celeste, Jenny & David, Jaymie & Mark, and Kami & Matt. Love them all!
Eyes closed, but a picture of us together none the less!
and a belated cake on Sunday. Yellow cake, with chocolate frosting. So predictable, but yet, that's why i love him so! Happy Birthday old man Crosland! ;-)
