on the road again....

Well, we did it yet again! We, meaning myself and these two cute girls made the trek from Minot to Kaysville! We left friday morning the 22nd around 9:15, and 17 hours later made it to Kaysville about 1:30ish! Ahhh! And really, this drive was so smooth. And what I mean by that is I was in an incredible mood-- I was so excited to get out of the cold and into Utah to good weather and family, I was pretty giddy the whole way there! Which is a good mood to be in when you are driving 17 hours in a car with 2 children... you know what I mean? We actually hit some rough weather spots, and Clara of course had one big throw up spell- right after lunch in the middle of Montana drive straight on a highway...(What!? It was only supposed to be windy roads that made her car sick!?) So I stopped and got her some Dramamine at a gas station, stuck the half of the tablet in a banana and she gobbled it up! 1 hour later.....
She was out cold for the last 5 hours of the drive! I know it looks like this is a different day, but nope. I'm prepared. We have clorox wipes ready, a change of clothes, new blanket, new binky/clip, garbage bags, wipes, etc... All ready to go because yes, she throws up every. single. time. on a long car drive. Bless her. It's nice to know that Dramamine really helps her though!
By the next morning she was back to normal!
We had a lazy Saturday morning and got to see Carter and Katelyn before heading over to the Croslands!
We played outside for only the 2nd time in 3 months.... How sad is that!? The girls were SO excited to play with Blake & Callie and had so much fun on Grandma's tramp!
Amy and I took the girls to Cafe Rio for dinner and put on quite a show while standing in line for our food with our girls.... we decided to get it to go and head to her house to eat after that! Haha... Bless those little cuties.
Sunday we went to my parents ward where Clara got to go to nursery with Grandma, and then spent the evening with the Crosland fam, and got to meet Jessi's cute boyfriend, Stefan. Lucy obviously approves... they played dress ups together, etc... Awesome.
Monday we headed to City Creek with Grandma Carrie! We only made it into like 3 stores, but it was still awesome! Oh how I miss good shopping...
Tuesday Lucy was able to go on a date with Grandma Bonnie! She was so excited! I just realized I have more pictures on my phone, but they went to Boondocks to go bowling and then Lucy chose to eat at Cafe Rio. She wanted a quesadilla and a strawberry of course.... That's my girl! Clara tried to tag along, but instead got stuck with me cleaning my flithy car in our pajamas, and going to the store to buy some new undies... what a day, what a day! ;-)
Later that day we were able to go visit my cute friend Michelle are her daughters... so not fair that we don't live close anymore! I love these girls! Isn't Ruby the cutest ever? And Lu was so excited to play with Izzy!
I can't get over how awesome the weather was when we were there! Lucy was loving wearing my sunglasses whenever we went outside, and we wore sandals every day! Wahoo!
I was able to go down to Orem Wednesday to judge Orem High's cheer try outs-- it was so fun to catch up with everyone, and judging try outs is my favorite-- so entertaining, etc... But after I went shopping with my good friend Christy who I coached with, then we met up with a bunch of the girls we coached, and Brooke, my assistant coach the next year! We met up with Carlie, Brooke, and Sariah. So weird they are all like adults now... oh, Brooke & Sariah are both married too. I feel old. But I'm also glad we can just be friends now, and not be their coach! I miss them all!
Thursday we had lunch at the Bun Basket with my mom, Candace, and Mel and her kids. We then went to the toy store next store and the kids got to choose out a new animal! Thanks grandma! Lucy chose a baby Llama and a baby Bunny.... She is so random. We then headed over to the Castle park to play, and later to Target... my kind of day!
Shopping is exhausting... good thing we had a bag of cotton balls she could use as a pillow! ;-)
We were going to meet Amy out at the farm for a couple hours after going to Target and were planning on going home to change, but we didn't really want to miss out on all the extra play time so I just had my mom drop us off! We all still had a blast even though we were all in dresses and sandals... but hey, a little dirt never hurt anybody!
Cute Lu riding Rio the pony! Amy is the coolest aunt ever!
Clara even loved riding. She loves saying 'Weee--O!' (Rio)
and of course Blakey is a pro rider already! Maybe one day we'll live close again so Amy can teach Lucy to ride!
Love these two cuties! They are exactly one month apart. Callie & Clara.
My mom came back to pick us up, and I was able to run down to City Creek for dinner at Kneaders with two of my besties- Michelle & Emily. We had a blast, and it's always so fun to catch up and have a girls night away from the kiddos!
And yes, apparently I'm the only one still making kissy faces... Haha.
Friday we were able to go to the Zoo! We went with Amy, Jessi, and Grandma Bonnie! They all have passes so we were able to get in for free too, Score! The girls love the zoo, and it's always a good time!
Oh, and I know my bun looks amazing.
These two are seriously the best of friends! Lucy talks about her best friend Blake every. single. day. She is her #1 imaginary play-date too! Haha.
This was the best... Blake was picking Clara up to help her see the giraffe, and Lucy decided she needed to help by trying to pick Blake up... Haha. What the heck!?
Love these girls so much! Just missing cute Macey & Mackayla!
Afterwards we were able to play at Grandmas all afternoon, we all got a little sunburn and ate a LOT of popsicles-- talk about Heavenly! I love this little orphan-annie!
We played at Grandma Carrie's that night with Co-Co, and Lu even got to try on her first pair of skis in preparation for the next day! (Post to come!) She was so excited....
We had a great first week! I'm already missing the sunshine and friends and family, but there's no place like home! (Or should I say, there's no place like where your husband is!? Haha. We missed Tyler!)

  2. Just so you know, my mantra for the past month has been "If Carly can do it..." but you make driving that long and far sound so easy...
You guys are so cute, we miss you!
