Utah summer lovin'
We made it Utah! Again! Haha, Thanks to the Crosland's! Jessi & Stefan got married August 15th, so the girls and I flew in about a week early to see some family and play! These girls were SO excited to see Grandma Carrie waiting for us at the airport, can I just say... leaving at 2pm, and getting in Salt lake by 6:15, is a WHOLE lot easier than driving 16 hours... Sigh... The girls were awesome on both plane rides though!
We of course had to stop at Cafe Rio on the way there... Lucy asked for it. And we got in the car and she yelled, "Cafe Rio here we come!" Atta girl Lucy.
For whatever reason... I decided to have the binky fairy come that night and take all of Clara's binkys to the babies... and leave her a prize in the morning! (Thanks Jaym...) My mom thought I was crazy doing this the night I flew in, but I just couldn't take it anymore! All I heard all day was, "Where my binky is mom!?" She didn't get to sleep until pretty late that night, and had a rough day the next day, but then was fine! She really hasn't asked for it at all! Going to bed has been a little slower- as in I can't just lay her down with her binky and blanket, I now like sing her a song before she goes to bed... Haha! But she is a champ, and in a way I am so so sad it's gone. I just miss my little baby! But it was SO time. She was pretty excited about her toy in the morning, and even got another one the next morning! Lucky duck!
I had to sing her a sleep the next few days during naps. What a chore. ;-) She really is my baby. I'm so sad she is SO big!
Tuesday we met up with Bonnie & Jessi, who had Blake and Callie with them to go swimming at Jessi's new apartment's pool. The girls were SO excited to see each other, and for some reason I didn't get any pictures that day. Loser. Oh well, plenty more to come!
Wednesday we met up with Coleen for lunch, and of course she had a bag of goodies for the girls. Because who doesn't need Princess sunglasses and Minnie Mouse socks? I love her.
And I know, my Yoga-ness is getting extremely out of hand, but oh well. Yoga in a skirt is awesome.
Life hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Brock is super rough...
Thursday night we met up with Michelle and her cute girls for dinner at Zupas and playing at Station Park- I can't get over how freaking nice that place is, and will be even better in the next year. Geez! But we love love Izzy & Ruby. I so wish we still lived around the corner from them!
Tyler gets really bored while we're gone... Obviously. Creeper. He's always shaving something weird every time we leave. Seriously!
The Crosland's were super busy with Wedding stuff, etc... But we managed to go over there a few nights to get them all to ourselves! These girls seriously have the best grandparents in the world.
Friday we just played in Grandma's backyard again- swimming and playing on the swings!
and this is what happened when my mom tried to get Clara to take a picture with me... OH Boy. I'm not sure you can really see her nose in the air and eyes closed... She's something else!
After Clara then proceeded to throw up while in line at Noodles... (she throws up at the drop of a hat...) we got our food to go... haha...and after she went to bed I ended up meeting one of my good friends Heather to go to City Creek! We had much needed shopping and girl time... and cheesecake of course. Love this girl.
Saturday morning I ran long with the pops, and later that afternoon headed to the Craft Lake City craft fair with Coleen! CoCo is like my second mom and I just love her. We had a blast and found lots of cute goodies.
Jessi went through the temple Saturday night so it was so fun to be there with all of the Crosland gang. -Minus Ben & Tyler of course. Someone's gotta work...;-) Jessi is amazing, and it was so awesome to be together in the Celestial Room with our family. We need to do family temple trips more often.
We went to my favorite restaurant of all time after- Mandarin, and I got this oh so fitting fortune... Haha.
The girls clearly had a rough time without me...
Sunday I got to take one of my ND besties.. who moved... you JERK... to the airport! I hadn't seen her in like 3 months and it felt like nothing had changed. Except that now I can't borrow eggs from her. Tear... Love you Anna!
We met up withe Crosland gang that night for Jeff's b-day dinner! Check our these cute Grandkids!
Blake, Clara, Callie, Cody, Lucy, Mackayla, and Macie.
Cody is now 6, Blake, Macie, and Lucy are 4, and Clara, Callie, and Mackayla are all 2! Sheesh! Thank goodness Amy's adding a boy to the mix in October!
We were going to brave 7 peaks on Monday, but decided Farmington Pool was a little more low-key, and it was awesome. Totally not crowded and perfect for the kids. I sure love these little cousins!
Monday night we finally got to see Carter & Katelyn! We hand't seen them since we had been there for a whole WEEK because Carter had been SO sick. I felt so bad. He still wasn't doing the greatest, but my kids had a little bug too at that point, so we figured.. what the heck? It was so fun to see them! Lucy also got to go on a date that night with Papa Jeff & Grandma Bonnie to a concert in Layton! She was like a kid on Christmas!
Tuesday I met up with the Crosland girls for some delicous lunch at Pei Wei, then we all had pedicures! Thank you, thank you Bonnie! It was so fun to talk without having to wrestle 7 kids and just relax! I really married into the best family ever.
I ran home to hang out with the kiddies for a while and late that night met up with a bunch of my girlfriends for Sushi- I love that we are all in such different places in life, but we never seem to miss a beat. They will always be some of my closest friends.
even if they all have uber-good looks and make me look like a stumpy midget. Haha!
Haley, Meg, Emily, Chelsie, Heather, me and Paige
we went up to Paige's afterwards for a late night swim and smores of course. Love love these girls.
Wednesday we had some Cafe Rio again- per Lucy's request. Again. Did some chaotic shopping- scratch that- attempted to do some, with the crazies. Failed miserably. Went home tired and defeated. Picked up Tyler from the airport and were SO happy to have daddy to the rescue!
and how cute is she? I love her Soooo much. The crazy girl.
Up next... Jessi & Stefan tie the knot! Wahoo!
