Crosland Home Tour
I can't believe we are really moving in a week! So crazy! I know we'll be back, but we will be living somewhere new, and it makes me so sad to leave this place! We have absolutely LOVED our apartment here. The only downside is it's on the 3rd floor- which means grocery store trips are rough! But if that's my biggest problem, I'd say we're doing pretty dang good. And all those stairs make for strong legs anyway right? ;-) We also have a 2-car garage outside where we store all of our camping gear, holiday decor, etc... and park both of our cars! So nice to have a garage! You really have to have one if you live in Minot!
These pictures are more just for me! So feel free to browse if you'd like!
Our front door, and laundry room right next door. This is the first place we've had an actual room for laundry! So nice to have extra storage in there. We had all of our food storage, tools, coat hooks, and laundry storage in there.
We used to have our dining room table out in the center, but we moved it up against the wall this winter and the girls ride their bikes and dance in the big open space! We usually eat at the island anyway, so we love having more space to run!
This is the view as you walk in the front door- I refinished the desk last year and have yet to find some cute knobs/pulls! Oh well!
Some day we will get new couches, but they are SO comfortable and work just fine, and were free. So we can't complain. We also got the super ugly FABULOUS lazy boy before I had Lucy and it's the best seat in the house. Never getting rid of that!
I love how much natural light we get! It's kind of a problem in the summer- it's only May and it's already staying light until past 10 o'clock here, but in the winter it's awesome. And because we're on the 3rd floor I have all of my windows wide open all day and don't feel like there's an invasion of privacy at all! (and another 3rd floor perk- NO BUGS! At all.)
We have all electrical heating- most everywhere up here does, and here there is no AC just two big AC units. One in the living room and one in the master. You really only need them about July-September, and they work great. It hasn't been a problem at all.
For sure my favorite part of our house is the kitchen. The floor plan is so open and our kitchen is about 3 billion times the size of anywhere else that we have lived, so we LOVE it! It's so nice to have so much counter space! And appliances that actually work well! ;-) Like I said earlier, 95% of our meals are eaten at the island and the girls are there all day coloring, painting, eating snacks, etc...
This is looking down the hall from the kitchen. Lucy's room- now the playroom, is on the right.
Lucy's room is my favorite room in the house. It's just so happy. ALL of the toys are in there, and it's just right off of the main living area, so the girls are always so happy to play in there. We all know kids like to play near their moms, but i'm just right outside the door, so most of the time the toys just stay in there. Even though the girls share Clara's room now, we still have Lucy's bed up. It's been nice to have when visitors come, etc... But I think I won't set it up in our next place until baby #3 comes sometime down the road.
The bedding I had in Clara's room was just awful! I finally just got rid of it one day and the girls went with just a down comforter for a while. My mom bought the bedding while she was here last time! Bless her! It makes the room so much more happy! Now to do something with that dresser!
The room before bedding. This room is for sleeping and reading only! Of course they still play in there, and that's fine! But all the toys are in Lucy's room, and the majority of the books are in here.
Their room is farther down the hall, so it's pretty far away from the kitchen/living area, and right next to the master. I like that they can go to bed, and I feel like I can still be up watching TV/doing dishes, etc... without waking them up!
We have two bathrooms- they are identical, but one is attached to the Master. The master bath had all of this really ugly brown stuff, so while my mom was here we updated it! It looks so much better and makes me so happy!
It's been 2 1/2 years and I've yet to hang anything in our room.... Yep!
We have loved living here! Here's to hoping we can find something this great when we come back in September!
