California 2015

So Jaymie and I went on a girls weekend a few weeks ago to LA! We seriously had maybe the best vacation I have ever been on in my life, and had so so much fun. We missed Jenny terribly, but she stayed home to be responsible and 'not hold us back'. Whatever Jenny! Still wish you would have been there! And traveling without kids is like part of the vacation... even when you handstand down walkways and people WALK into you. Seriously lady- I was in the middle of a handstand, why would you walk into me? So weird.
I've also never seen Jaymie so excited- her first time in the cock pit of the airplane. We had a pretty awesome captain, and we must have looked fun!? Who knows. Still hilarious. We also had some hilarious restaurant recommendations from a lady at the Minneapolis airport. We were making friends already!
We stayed with Jaymie's brother Brett in LA, and he was the best host! Brett has come up here a few times, so we are all really good friends. We got some In N' Out on the way back to his place, and managed to get a few hours of sleep before waking up early and heading down to the Santa Monica Pier for some Yoga! We were a bit late, but it was still so fun to be doing yoga on the pier with the sound of the ocean! And to be outside! Bliss.
We maybe reenacted 'The Californians' the entire trip.

Also sunshine. Yes!
A nice man offered to take our picture on the beach after a selfie fail, and then what ensued was a 15 minute long photo shoot of us role playing whatever he was saying... It was kind of the most hilarious thing ever. And we got some great pictures...
And here is our dear friend. An Actor from Paris. Living life right! So so funny.
Then this happened... I thought I had broke her arm... Sand is way harder to do anything in. Yoga. Tumble. Partner cartwheeling. You name it, and I slaughtered it in the sand. I still laugh so hard every time I see this video......
We walked from the beach over to Lululemon just real quick... HAHAHAHA. 3 hours later... we grabbed some 'lunch/breakfast' at CPK at 4:30 and headed home to clean up for our 'night out'. Now as Minot Mormon Mom's our nights out are very... Well... Shall we say, a yoga class, target, and applebees? That's an exciting one. So you get that our expectations are low. Well we spent the night in West Hollywood with Brett and his friend and had the best time ever. We had a great dinner, then went dancing. And it was hilarious, and so so much fun. I definitely will not forget this night maybe ever. So many memories. Wish we could get our husbands to join in on the fun next time!
soooo many selfies of us two.
I will end that night by saying this... Even though we had a BLAST, and it was so fun to be out without kids and just relax, dance, and have fun... I left feeling SO Thankful for a loving husband, and two very beautiful girls at my little home in North Dakota. We really have it so good, and I couldn't be happier with where I am at. Also, West Hollywood is sort of comparable to the great and spacious building in Lehi's dream.... So there's that!

We headed to our hotel in Anaheim SUPER late that night to get ready for DISNEYLAND the next 2 days. Post to come.... My favorite place on earth. Hands down.

Tuesday was our last day in California, and Brett had to be responsible and work, so we dropped him off at his office and headed over to the bagel shop to eat breakfast... but we were sooooooooo tired. So many late nights. so little sleep. so much walking, and playing! we got back in his car, reclined the seats, and just slept for like 30 minutes before getting the energy to sit and up and drive....
We ran over to a different lulu and anthropologie to make a return... and stop in real quick... of course.... before braving the wind and heading to the beach!
We spent the day at Manhattan beach and it was seriously amazing!!! We had the best fish tacos, It was probably like 70 degrees and pretty breezy, but it felt so good to be in the sunshine and in a swimsuit on the beach. My happy place is the ocean. It is so relaxing... I seriously dream of one day living by the beach. Sigh...
So so beautiful.
We also had the most epic dance party on this lifeguard stand to 'Sugar'. Which was also the theme song to this trip. I promise we weren't on college spring break... it only appears that way.
We picked Brett up after work and headed back to the Manhattan beach creamery to eat way too many cupcakes and cookie ice cream sandwiches. So so good!

We then headed down to the beach to catch the sunset. Ahhh.... so nice. Take me back!
and then proceeded to take some of the cheesiest sunset pictures known to mankind. The better part of which are not even on here... We're so ridiculous.
Our flight left at 9pm, so after a scenic drive on the PCH Brett dropped us back off at LAX and we were on our way! We had kind of a crazy flight back home because we both used sky miles to book our tickets, but during our 2 hour layover in San Francisco we walked off the plane to see this sign to the 'yoga room'! It was seriously like fairy dust had been on us this whole vacation... everything went so so perfect! We enjoyed the next hour and a half in this beautiful clean yoga studio charging our phones and stretching and moving before our red eye flight back! It was so so awesome. I'm voting for more yoga studios in airports!

We had a red eye flight to Minneapolis where we lucked out with an empty plane and each had a whole row to ourselves, then a layover there before we had a quick flight back to Minot just in time for Lucy's 6th Birthday! Hip, Hip, Hooray!
