Easter 2012
We had a pretty quiet Easter this year! I got home Saturday night at like 9:30 after being in the car for 2 days, AND Thursday night at like 10pm, while I was in Utah we got called and asked to speak in Sacrament meeting on Sunday on the Atonement and the Resurrection of Christ. Ah! No light matter.... Tyler called to ask me if we could, and I was just like well, if it's not this week it's next, so might as well get er' done! =)
I was so nervous to speak on Easter just because it had been so long since I had really reviewed the whole 'Easter Story'. I wanted to make sure I knew exactly what went on during Christ's last days and found an amazing talk by Elder Holland. (Thanks Hydee!) I then read up in the New Testament, and just kind of told the story of the atonement and the resurrection of Christ. My cute father-in-law Jeff recommended an amazing talk by Brad Wilcox during one of BYU's devotionals, that I also used. I was a little nervous, and especially after writing my talk an hour before church-- literally finishing typing as we were walking out the door-- (But let's be honest, that would be the case no matter how much notice I had!), but it was the perfect way to remember the true reason of Easter. I totally teared up on the stand, I'm so turning into my mom! But, I was so glad that I had the opportunity to speak on the atonement and to feel the spirit a little more in my life that day! I also had to teach my Sunbeams that day, and thank goodness Tyler's mom had given Lucy a sweet book on Easter that I could read to them, and totally wing it. Luckily you can do that with 3 and 4 year olds!
You can read the talks on links below-- you won't be sorry you did!

And thank goodness for Grandma's, and friends to fill my girl's Easter baskets! They got books and a cute toy from Grandma Bonnie, some pajamas for Clara, a swimsuit for Lucy, and candy from Grandma Carrie, some cute books from my Aunt Andrea, and I had Lucy's Belle doll leftover from her Birthday party. Phew! These two girls are so spoiled beyond reason by their grandparents so there was nothing left for me to do!
Finding her Easter basket hiding in the laundry room!
sleepy girls!
and cute Lucy.
picture taking before church was obviously a fail as I was still writing my talk...(by the way... Lucy threw a total tantrum when Tyler got up to speak, so I had to carry her screaming, and cute Clara out in the hall.... awesome. My friend Amy came and took Clara, and Lucy and I watched from the back... Yay Lucy! Have I mentioned that she is 3 now?? =))
After church our cute friends Rob and Kim invited us to dinner at their house. She was like this is totally late notice, and you probably have dinner made, but she saved the day so we could have a yummy Easter dinner with their family! Thanks guys!
AND... while I was gone, Tyler, himself, all alone, MOVED us from our 2 bedroom apartment into our 3 bedroom apartment! Yay! (okay I'm lying, he hired two hispanics who came up from Utah to work for his company to help him move on Friday! Haha....Only a man would pay some hispanics to help him move, rather than call the Elders Quorum. Classic.) I feel like I am forever indebted to him... I was feeling pretty guilty playing in Utah, while he was packing up our entire house, and moving us! (His idea to move while I was gone, not mine! I'm not that mean!)... I came home to a new apartment that was clean and had all the furniture set up, clothes put away, etc... He gets husband of the year award.
And his birthday is next week... gift ideas, anyone, anyone??
