Holiday Fun, Gingerbread Houses, Cookies, an Elf Surprise, & a Ward Par-tay!

one more cookie pic for good measure... found on my phone from one of the rehearsals. Little cutie-pa-tootie.
The week before we left for Utah, we crammed a LOT in. I pretty much felt like I wanted to die. Ok, not really. But I was SO excited to get to Utah, and I had a million things to do before we could go. I felt like I was under so much pressure that week, but you know me... It's because I won't give up the
fun stuff!

We went to our favorite book store- Main Street Books for a little Story Time & Cookie party one Saturday morning. Lucy was in heaven, so was Clara- she was just terrorizing rather than paying attention at all.
cute Celeste & Anson met us there
We chose out our ornaments for this year-- here's Lucy and Clara's: the two Dinosaurs. Who are Sara and Little Foot... obviously.
Our Elf caused more mischief when he remembered....
went to Clara's BFF's (Georgia!) party at the McDonalds playplace!
It's now officially FREEZING cold, but I am ready to take on the cold....
so naturally Tyler sits in the car while I scrape off the windshield.... not of snow. Of just ice that accumulates from thin air. It's amazing I tell ya...
Had a Christmas baking party, without planning it, where I made a ton of sugar cookies, we decorated a gingerbread house, and listened to Christmas music galore!
which obviously wore everyone out....
Wednesday night we were supposed to have the missionaries over, but they had something come up, so we had Celeste and Taylor over for our secondary Thanksgiving! I had been craving Thanksgiving food ever since Thanksgiving, so we made mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, veggies, ok so that's the only Thanksgiving food we had, because we had this amazing pork loin... but it was good! While they were there our Elf, Frosty, came back from the North Pole! He had been up there talking with Santa about how we were going to be in Utah over Christmas, so he made a special delivery that night, and brought the girls their very own kitchen!
They were ecstatic!!  Seriously.... and Lucy of course loved her phone very first thing!
It's so fun Daddy even likes to play!
Thursday night Jaymie had a little cookie exchange, which was amazing! I seriously have the greatest friends.
Celeste, Jaymie, and Heidi. Cute prego ladies. We're missing like 3 other pregnant girls too... it's ridiculous!
Jenny, Kim, and me. Jen and I are super tall obviously! We had already lost Anna, and Margel by then too! And maybe some other people... it's been so long now that my brain can't remember who else was even there! Ah!
I'm still dreaming about those White Chocolate peppermint goodness that Anna made though... Yum!!
Friday the 14th was when all of my getting stuff done was supposed to happen, but after taking Lucy to the doctor time seemed to just stand still after hearing about Newtown, CT. It really hit me hard, as I'm sure it did everyone. We had our ward party that night, and it was so nice to see all of our dear friends here, and be reminded of the real reason for the season.
Cute Lucy and Ruby were the sheep in the nativity some kids acted out while we sang the Nativity Song. They are so dang cute!
Me & Jen-- I'm just now realizing how puffy and swollen my eyes are! Ah! Staying up super late the night before, and a sob fest during the day worked out really well for me!
up next... Utah!
