family utah fun
The weekend after the wedding was craziness! I REALLY wanted to get Family Pictures done in Utah, so we woke up Friday morning after the wedding and met the fabulous- Jessie Evans up by Millcreek Canyon to get these done! Our outfits were kind of thrown together last second as I really didn't get too much time to fret over them, but everything went remarkably well considering how tired we all were! I just got them back and love love them! Jessie did our last family pictures too, and she is amazing.

We headed straight from pictures to the Davis County fair to meet up with the Crosland gang to see the Elephant show and get some quick lunch! We were MELTING to say the least and didn't last too long. We ended up taking the girls over to Farmington Pool with Bonnie, Ben, Cody, and Macey. The kids had SO much fun. They don't spend nearly as much time with them as we both live away from Utah, so it was fun for them to hang out for the day! And I can't get over how much of a fish Lucy & Clara are! It's ridiculous!
That night we headed to the Davis County Rodeo! Both Blake and Cody's names got drawn to do the Muttin Bustin. Unfortunately Lucy's did not, but we decided to just see if another kid didn't show up if they would let her go!
The guy working back there was an absolute jerk and even though they had like 4 kids not show up, and then had 4 extra sheep he wouldn't let Lucy go! We even had all of her paperwork already turned in, etc... She was crushed and left sobbing! Luckily Grandma and Papa were there to cheer her up! We still had a blast watching Cody and Blake though! I headed home early because I had to be up the next morning at 3:45 to get to my half marathon! Uggggghh!
I miraculously made it to Mapleton on time! Haha. I ran the Hobblecreek Half, and ended up meeting up with one of my UCA friends Kelli to run with! It totally did not make sense to run this race at all- my dad ended up not running it, neither did his friends I was going to ride down with, I was exhausted, I had another half to run the next weekend, etc... Haha. But I had paid, and actually trained for this race. Plus it's such a fast course- all down the canyon, that I knew I could get the best time that I could!
Here's Kelli and I before the race started- She's such a babe!
Of course I started out way too fast as it's all down hill, but I actually didn't crash and burn! Haha. I had a really bad sideache from like mile 2-6, but I just ran through it and felt fine after that. The course is absolutely gorgeous and so much fun to run! Half's are definitely where the fun in running is for me... Who knows why in the world I signed up to do another marathon!? Haha. But I was hoping to finish under 1:55, and ended up finishing at 1:47! I was so glad I decided to go! I still felt fine as I ran through the finish, was able to eat a little, etc... Half's are awesome, and this was such a fun race! I hope I can work it out to be in Utah at this time again next year!
My cute friend Christy lives in Springville right by the race, so I met her for breakfast after over at Magelby's! I forgot to take a pic though- we looked pretty awesome though, me in my sweaty race attire and her in sweats at the nice restaurant! Loved it. But I eventually made the hour and half ride back to my moms without falling asleep! Wahoo! Tyler had taken the girls to the farm that morning to see Rio, and then took Lucy over to Cherry Hill with his whole family! Clara and I both napped for a couple hours and met them over there later that afternoon!
I think they were all a little worn out at this point... Haha!
We had a fun BBQ over at the Croslands that night for one final get together before everyone had to leave! And since Blake & Callie are the BMX Queens, we headed over to ride our bikes for a little while!
I love this classic Clara picture...
and apparently I have never grown up... Just practicing handstands in the parking lot. Totally normal.
Sunday we were able to go hear Jeff speak in the morning, then Tyler hung out with his parents before they took off on a little getaway, while Lucy and I went to see Candace's boyfriend's Sam's farewell. He's in my parents ward- (wardies!!) Anyway we made it back to see Bonnie and Jeff before they left, then spent the evening hanging out at my mom's where unfortunately I think the busy-ness of the last few days caught up with us and everyone was feeling pretty sick! Oh well!
Monday I woke up at the crack of dawn to take Ty to the airport, then we went to Cherry Hill with my mom, Mel, Carter, & Katelyn, Candace & Sam, then met up with Amy, Blake, and Callie, and cute Michelle, Izzy, & Ruby. We had SO much fun and stayed there ALL day!
cute Candace and Sam- he's gone now!
It was such a fun day! Thanks Grandma for taking us!
Monday night I was still feeling pretty sick, but we had arranged for the girls to go over to my mom's neigbor's house to play so we could get out for a girls night! You would think I would have stayed home to just sleep and curl up in ball- but I was so excited to have a babysitter that we just went over to Station Park for dinner and some quick shopping! I couldn't even really eat, but it was still so nice to be with my mom and Mel without all of the crazy kids- (Let's be honest, mainly Clara... that girl... She had been away from home TOO long and had been quite the drama queen the last week we were there... haha. Bless her!) I had some returns at H&M, then we ended up in Gymboree of course where my mom found all the girls these cute outfits.
We ran to City Creek really quick Tuesday morning so I could do a return, then I wanted to go into one store for some Birthday shopping- it was a pretty awesome trip- Hah! Clara threw the tantrum of the century. I think she had ripped off her bow, shoes, skirt, and threw anything else that was given to her..... etc... etc... etc... She's like a one woman circus! We somehow managed to calm her down, when we really should have just gone home, but I was so frustrated with her ruining time out with my mom that I wasnt' about to leave. Haha- but really. Sometimes that girl just thinks she is the Queen! Which she obviously is... Haha, but anyway. We barely survived and made it back up to Kaysville to meet CoCo, Mel, and Candace for lunch at the Bun Basket where I totally left her sleeping in the car the WHOLE time. Best decision I ever made!
You know I love her more than anything... I'm just keeping it real! ;-) She woke up just in time to be a sweet little girl and too choose out a baby animal at the toy Store- because yes, apparently we reward crazy toddler behavior. Haha! Love you my sweet Clara!
I think this is the day that I posted her 'For Sale' on instagram. Oh how I love her!
I tried to get a pic of all the grandkids... which usually goes something like this...
We just relaxed at my mom's Tuesday night while we packed everything up. Lucy kills me...
We had to be to the airport SUPER early Tuesday morning, but everything went great and we made it back to Minot by early afternoon! It was such a fun trip, and Lucy keeps telling me, "Mom... I need to tell you some-ping.... I want to go see grandma..." It breaks my little heart! We miss them already! Thanks for such a fun trip Jeff & Bonnie! And Congrats to Jessi and Stefan!
