Writing.
I haven't had the chance to 'write' on my blog in a while. I have been so busy playing catch up all summer, that no words have been written! And you know me, I'm a big talker. =) Tyler is gone one night a week every week, and tonight is that night. I always put the kids to bed a little earlier than normal and sit up and have a lot of 'me' time. (it should be spent cleaning, and is usually not!!) But it always gets me thinking. I have just been reading some blogs and one of my friends posted a link to THIS general conference talk. I am so glad I was able to read it. My calling right now is the primary secretary, and Tyler is one of the ward clerks. Tyler is in meetings all morning, then in sacrament meeting we chase Clara and Lucy around like none other, then we play pass of while Tyler tries to take down all the new member info, while I pass out rolls, get new kids in right classes, etc... etc... Anyway. Church lately is anything but relaxing. I can't remember the last time I heard a full talk-- wait, I do. It was mine when we spoke in May! I didn't even hear Tyler's because of crying children. Haha.... Anyway anyway... we both are not getting a lot of 'spiritual-ness' at church, so I really need to make sure we are doing more at home. It's so comforting to know that even after what seems like so long of not feeling the spirit, that as soon as you ready to let that spirit back in, and feel your mind with good, wholesome things, and read the words of our apostles and prophet, that the spirit comes right back. I am filled again with the warm, comforting feeling of peace. The holy ghost has always just filled me with a sense of peace, and it is the most comforting feeling in the world. I am so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so proud to be a Mormon! What a wonderful thing it is to be so uniquely different and weird. My testimony has always been based on the fact that when I am living within the word of God that I am happy, and that continues to be true. We are at such a safe place right now in our lives, and I am truly trying to just enjoy every minute of it. I never thought our safe place would be in North Dakota, but it has been such a wonderful experience. Our family has been so very blessed, and I am so thankful for all that we have! I'm so glad I got a little reminder tonight that I need to make sure the Book of Mormon is a much bigger part of my life than it is right now.
On to other little things-- Life with us is pretty calm right now. Tyler is really enjoying his job, and things are pretty low key. If you didn't already know, he works for UCP/Personnel Services, a temp agency, and pretty much oversees the 2 offices here in North Dakota. They find workers for the oil field, truckers, construction, etc... I'm thoroughly enjoying not working right now, and just hanging out with the girls all day! Our days consist of me running in the morning, playing at the YMCA, playing at the Splash Pad/Park, swimming at the Velva Pool, and occasionally hanging out at Target! Haha. We're VERY exciting, but happy. Coming up this next month, I will finally turn 24-- giddy-up! Haha, Lucy will start preschool September 4th (ah!!), and I we're 90% sure my mom is coming out for a week in September, and while she's here we will go to Pheonix for the weekend to see our good friends Porter and Erika! Yay! Then at the end of September we're meeting Tyler's family at Mt. Rushmore, and then October 6th I'm running the St. George marathon! I still have no idea how I'm getting there, but I am determined to be there! Haha. I thought it was going to be such good timing, and it's turning out to really not be at all. Blast! Oh well!
life is good. girls are cute and healthy. and i still love tyler! can't ask for more! =)

I love to read your "writing"! I'm sure that living in a different state has opened your eyes to how rare and different our beliefs are...but how awesome it is too! Glad you were able to get a spiritual boost despite the Sunday crazy :)
