Burli-MOT Half Marathon

Saturday was the Burli-Mot (Burlington to Minot) Half Marathon! This was the first year they have done it, so after all was said and done, Shauna, Jenny, and I ended up running it together! Jenny and I have been running together since like April, and Shauna will usually run with us on Saturdays. (We missed you Heather!!) They are both so cute, and it was so much fun having people to run with!
we are super cool and took pics as we were running. We look good...

So this was a little more low key you could say than the other 2 races I have done... haha... you provided your own transportation to the starting line, there were only about 120 runners total, etc... but it was awesome. we ran along the trail that we run on almost every saturday, so it was fun to do something that we're so familiar with!

Seriously, half marathons are perfect! I had so much fun running this race. It was still challenging, but fun, and I know I could push myself so much harder to get a better time. I felt good through the finish, but the hard part is knowing that the mileage just keeps going up from here! Saturday it goes up to 15 miles, then 17, then 19, etc... 26.2 is far! Running a 13.1 mile race seems fun when training for a full marathon! Haha. My last, and only other half, I ran in 2:02, so in my head I wanted to break 2 hours. I finished in 1:58:19, so I was happy I did that! I think that's like a 9 minute mile pace, which is awesome for me. I run pretty slow!

Please check out how awesome I look at the finish:
We finished running through Oak Park, and they have a bunch of running trails, we made one big loop, then a smaller one, and I seriously didn't even know I was close to the finish until like 10 feet before it! Tyler was teasing me for not sprinting through the finish line, but I didn't even know it was there!
Don't worry. There's more totally awesome pictures.
Lucy was so excited to see me at the finish line! I think this face might top one of the best pictures of me of all time. Thanks babe!

watching Shauna & Jenny finish- we all finished within like 5 minutes of each other.
Lucy is the cutest. Clara had actually thrown up all over herself as Tyler was parking the car, so she is hiding in the stroller wrapped up in a blanket! Awesome!
I loved running with these girls. I'm just so sad they aren't running St. George with me!
Good race. It was like 60 degrees and sunny all morning! Perfect!
Until next year...

  2. Good like with the full marathon! I can definitely agree with you that halfs seem so much fun when you've experienced running a full marathon! My brother is running the St.George Marathon this year, maybe I'll see you cross the finish line?!
