so I went to utah again...
and I couldn't even wait until I got there to get some cafe rio... had to stop in Billings, MT.... Haha
SO. I was talking to my mom last Thursday at like 11am while my kids were running wild, and chatting about buying Keens on Zulily... (you missed out if you didn't get them-- killer deals.) anywho... I was sad I wasn't going to be able to see my sister Cheryl who was flying in that night from Baltimore, and then I had this idea that Tyler was in Dickinson that night, so if I drove there and spent the night with him, I would be 3 hours closer, then it would only be like a 12 hour drive! SO.... I hurry and cleaned my house, thank goodness the laundry was done the day before, took the car to get the oil changed and the tires rotated, walked over to the mall and met some friends while that happened, then hurried home, threw stuff in the car, downloaded harry potter back onto my ipod, borrowed jenny's portable dvd players, and hit the road at about 7pm!
I made that really pretty drive through the middle of North Dakota-- you know that one I keep talking about. You should make it sometime.
Anyway. Got to Dickinson, filled up with Gas, put the girls to bed, (Tyler shares his apartment there with 4 Hispanics that work for his company-- he has the master bedroom there, so Lucy slept in the closet on the air mattress, and we all got a great night sleep actually!)
We left there at 7am, and made it to Kaysville by 8:30pm! It was supposed to take us 13.5 hours, but without the two 1 hour stops, it only took us 11.5 hours. Sweet! And, the girls were AMAZING! Seriously. I was so so worried, they definitely watched more dvds than they normally would, but I think having Clara facing forward now, and her binky clip, I was good! Clara did choke on a grape driving through Yellowstone and threw up, but other than that, we had no major mishaps!
We were welcomed to my mom's with some yummy Mandarin leftovers! My fav. We stayed up way too late, as usual. Saturday I went for a run with my dad, then headed over to the Crosland's. Lucy was so excited to see Blake, and they had a blast swimming out on Grandma's deck!
Later that afternoon we headed up to Park City with my mom and Cheryl to do a little shopping. Cheryl cut off 10 inches of her hair that morning! Holy cow!
We had yummy cafe rio again- it's definitely my favorite food. hands down.
Sunday we made it to church with my parents, watched Olympics, and seriously funny home movies.
This is from our trip we took driving across the country towing our trailer. How awesome are we!??
My mom's dress is awesome. Bottom left.
The best part of the closing ceremonies: Spice Girls. I'm already depressed the Olympics are over!
Monday we had a pretty laid back day eating more popsicles at Grandma Bonnie's, and feeding the ducks later at Grandma Carrie's. The girls were really deprived the whole time we were there... =)
Lucy showing us her first position and plies. She is awesome.
cute ducks that live in the creek in my parents backyard!
Monday night my mom watched the girls while I went to dinner and shopped at little with my two cute friends Emily, and Michelle. It was so so good to see them! I wish we lived closer to them!! We have been friends since high school, and i love them dearly!
Tuesday we had another lazy lazy day-- it was awesome. The kids played in the pool and ate yet more popsicles while we got picked up In N' Out and hung out on the porch!
We had dinner that night at Settebello again, while Bonnie watched my girls. It was so fun to have 2 girls nights in a row! I love my mom and sisters, and Coleen of course!
So we went to go see 'Hope Springs' and I'm pretty much scared for life. It was the most awkward movie ever-- 2 old people + sex. You get the idea, we eventually left the movie early just because it was so embarrassing! Haha... but really. I had such high hopes, and was severely disappointed! I promise I'm really not a movie 'snob' either, i love love movies. and it was awful!
Wednesday was family day at Cherry Hill, so Jessi was able to get us in for free, yay! We were able to go with almost all the Crosland clan, and Lucy had so much fun playing with Grandma, Jessi, Kevin, Blake and Luke! It was so fun having Jessi, Kevin, and Luke there. Amy and I got to sit and play with our babies! My cute friends Michelle came with her 2 kids too. We miss Cherry Hill!
Lucy stayed and played with Blake and Grandma while I took Clara to meet my mom and 2 of my aunts and cousins at City Creek. We had super late lunch at Blue Lemon and ran into a couple stores real quick. Lucy had SO much fun at Cherry Hill ALL day long, thanks Bonnie and Jessi for keeping her!
We had Kevin's birthday dinner that night at Pizza Factory. It's always so good to get everyone together! Thanks Bonnie!
Thursday Cheryl flew home, so my mom and I headed out to Ikea for a little while, I got my hair done, got all packed up, had a delicious spaghetti dinner-- are you sensing a theme here? I think I ate Italian every day I was there, except Cafe Rio of course! Fine with me! =)
after we got all packed up we headed over to the Croslands to say goodbye to Amy and her cute girls, and to see Papa! He had been on the Pioneer Trek all week, so we were glad we got to see him before we left!
cute Clara and Callie:
We headed out Friday morning at 7:15am-- I was planning on stopping in Dickinson again, but decided half way through I would just drive all the way home! We got home at 11:30, so with the time change it was about 15 hours, and we stopped for lunch and dinner, with one potty break in between! I was so proud of my girls- they did so well. I'm glad it went so well, because I have a feeling I will be doing the same thing in October when I go back for the Marathon! Ugh!
We had so much fun, but are SO glad to be home!

K Car so maybe if you can do it, I can do it...maybe... sounds fun though!
ReplyDeleteLove that you picked up and went
