Lake Powell 2014: Survivor Part 2
Most of us. Kev & Stefan had to leave a few days early!
The fun continues!
One of the most hilarious things was playing the Jelly-Belly game 'Bean Boozled'. I was thinking it would be an adults only game, but oh no! Blake, Cody, and Callie all joined in. It was hilarious! They got the worst flavors ever, and Callie was so hilarious. It's really a toss up which is the worst flavor- I'm thinking either Smelly Socks, or Canned Dog Food. But really-- Rotten Egg, Moldy Cheese, and Stinky Skunk are pretty bad too! Ah!
Carrie was hilarious and I was sure she was going to throw up! Still die laughing thinking about her!
We managed to get all of the 7 'big' kids on the tube! Before Callie fell asleep again! Haha
Lake Powell takes a LOT of preparation, and isn't exactly relaxing most of the time with all of these little kids, but seeing them all together definitely makes it all worth it! I just LOVE how they are all so close in age. Cody's 7, then three 5 year olds, and three 3 year olds!

We had a talent show one night! Ben & Carrie's kids delighted us with some primary songs!
Callie performed her own song! Made it up on the spot! She's hilarious.
Lucy and Clara also sang a couple of primary songs for us.
The best was Grandma Bonnie was giving all of the Grandkids a pep talk about how sometimes we can get nervous before performing in front of people, and that's okay, etc... etc... and Lucy just looked so confused. When Grandma Bonnie asked the kids if they got nervous sometimes all of the other kids nodded their heads, and Lucy said no and looked bewildered. Oh how I love my little performer!
Then they danced to 'Call me Maybe...'
complete with cartwheels and all!
Blake sang probably the cutest song I've ever heard about a mouse building a house. You could tell she had worked so hard to perfect it! Go Blakey!
With 8 little kids it was a very different trip with not as much wakeboarding/skiing going on, but we still managed to get in a few good runs!
Here's Amy:
Me. I'm such a wuss! But baby jumps will just have to do!
Ben- who makes everything look so easy!
and Tyler!
{Insert cat calls here! Ow, Owww!!!}
and Luke- the wild one.
I think my favorite part was watching all of these cute kids learn to water ski! Cody was up first! We started at first in the water, but quickly learned starting at the beach is much easier! Thanks for all of your help Papa and Luke!
Lucy was the first one who wanted to try, but then got chickened out! She finally decided to go after Blake and Cody, but was NOT happy about it. It was so funny, but she still decided to go! She popped right up and immediately started sobbing! She ended up going the farthest, and could have kept going but we finally stopped because she was still crying. It was so funny!
This picture makes me laugh so hard! Go Lucy! Haha
She had quite the dramatic end of her turn, and twisted her foot getting it out of the ski. My fault! Oops. But after Blake went a second time, Lucy wanted to go again! This time she was all smiles! The houseboat by ours was playing Ke$ha's "Timber" and she was loving life! She was rocking out, and having so much fun! She skiied the longest, and could have kept going too, but wanted to be done! I don't think she realizes that when you're done all you have to do is let go of the rope! ;-)
Way to go Lucy! We're so proud!
"It's a bird, it's a plane, no!... It's Luke!"
We had so many fun Survivor games! Luke & Amy seriously set the bar so high! Luckily at the auction, Jessi bid on an undisclosed item, which ended up being the gift of planning next year's Lake Powell trip! Phew! Good luck Jessi & Stefan! Haha!
One of the last challenges the prizes was IBC Rootbeer. The kids were over the moon excited!
Here's the Orange team! They're missing Kevin and gained a couple kids!
and the dominating team... the GREEEN BLASTERS! and to be fair- baby Logan and Stefan are on our team too! ;-)
Thanks again to Amy and Luke. It was so fun!
and a HUGE thanks to Bonnie and Jeff! This trips takes SO much time, money, planning, and preparation. We are so, so glad we get to do this every year! Family trips are where so many memories are made, and I'm so glad my girls have the opportunity to make so many fun memories with their grandparents and cousins. We're the luckiest! Until next year!....
