Lake Powell 2014: Survivor
We had the BEST time at Lake Powell! As usual. We didn't go last year, because we went to Hawaii--- I know, I know, can't complain.... but still! We missed it like crazy! Luke and Amy put everything together this year and we had a fabulous 'Survivor' theme! We were split up into teams- against our spouses- and each time had their own bandha's, flag, etc... We had a different game each day, and we all had a blast!
Working out a puzzle after gathering all of the clues during one of the games/obstacles!
Everyone has gotten way into fishing at Lake Powell, and Cody is the master. Of course! We caught a ton of carp, and the kids had a blast! As did the Dad's! They did a little spear fishing of their own!
Some targets set up for water balloon launching!
Clara was the best at it!
Most of the crew!
We had a beautiful spot this year! A big sandy beach and lots of shade in the evenings! The kids all had a blast!
Go Tyler! He braved jumping the wake for the first time since breaking his back 7 years ago--- and did it like it was no big deal. Of course.
Clara was so excited to catch a fish!
The boys spent hours trying to prefect their football toss game. Tyler was smart and got the job throwing from the back! ;-)
Then I tried throwing the ball to Jessi. I'm clearly a great shot!
I wish you could see how high the slide really is! It was so much fun!
These kids sure love their grandma!
Tube loving girls! I can't get over how beautiful Lake Powell is. Wish we could go back already!
We stayed up Iceberg Canyon again!
Best picture ever. Love little Lucy holding on for dear life! Haha!
One of the funnest parts about Lake Powell this year was the paddle boards! The Crosland's now own a couple, so we had so much fun on them on the Lake! Luke went exploring one night under the full moon, and told us all how cool it was! Tyler and I went out for a while and it was crazy! The moon was so bright that you could see almost crystal clear and the water was so calm. It was amazing. We went on a bunch of rides, and just around the canyon we found a bunch of beavers! I had never seen beavers at Lake Powell and was so surprised by how huge they are! The kids loved taking the paddle boards and kayaks over to see them every day!
We really spent the majority of our days just relaxing and playing around the houseboat and beach. Lots of playing on the island, swimming, fishing, and playing with cousins!
more pics to come!
