Lucy Jane


Oh sweet Lucy.
She missed her nap yesterday, and while Tyler was helping me make dinner, we looked over to find her sound asleep watching Mary Poppins on the ipod...
That girl does not do well without a 2 hour nap. Seriously!
She is such a sweet little girl, and such a great big sister!
If you ask her how old she is, she will say, "I 2 and a half. Blakey's 3."
I always call her and Clara girl 1, and girl 2-- and she always tells me, "No mom, I 2 and a half."
She also LOVES to sing- She sings along to every song on the radio, and when I say sing along I mean usual joins in on the last word of the sentence and tells me all the time, "Mom- I a good singer!"
Her favorite song is 'I'm gunna be a Mighty King' From the Lion King, and she always asks to sing the 'Lion King' song and knows almost every word and also dances to it. One of the beginning dance classes I taught way back in the day did a dance to that, so I taught her and she LOVES it.
She will do Anything to be the center of attention and loves everyone!
She loves all babies, but especially her baby sister Clara. Those two could play all day long together!
She is now a professional potty trained girl! She has pooped in the potty the last 3 days in a row-- I'm so proud! And so glad to not be spending money on diapers anymore-- we are already so tight on money right now that it's a huge blessing to only buy for one! =)
I'm so proud of her for being such a big girl! I can't believe how grown up she is now.
Lucy really likes her alone time, and almost everytime I put her down for a nap, or to sleep at night, she turns on her lamp and reads books in her bed, or puts all the 'monies' back in her piggy bank, or wraps her babies up in their blankets, makes 'dinner' with her dishes, or plays with her horseys.
She is very imaginative and could play all day long in her room.
As much as she really needs her 'me' time, she loves loves playing with friends!
She talks about her friends, Blake, Izzy, Macie, all the time, and her church friends Berklie and Addison. She always asks about them and wants them to come play!
She always is saying, "Mom, come play with me!" and drags me to her room-- it's so fun to sit down with her and have tea parties and let her make me dinner. She loves for me to help her with puzzles and her disney princess memory game, and to read her stories.
She says a million times a day, "What's that mom?" and is so busy getting into things.
I love that I can play with her and revert back to my child-like self! I played house and that sort of thing until like 8th grade, and LOVED it, so I love that I still get to be a kid with my kids!
I love making her room a place where she can be creative and play with all of the things and toys that she loves.
She is so smart too! She can sing the A,B,C song, and knows all of her letters from A-F, as well as a bunch of other random ones, mainly 'O-R-E-M'. Haha....
She knows all of her colors, and can count to about 14, after that its, "Help please mom!"
She still loves 'boovies' and wants to watch a movie every morning right when she wakes up-- which is fine with me if it's before 8am-haha. Lately she has been waking up before Clara even! 
I can't complain because I know my kids are such great sleepers- but anything before 8am is WAY to early for me!
Lucy loves to color, play with playdough, and loves the shows, 'Super Why' and 'Dinosaur Train' on PBS Kids. It's a special treat to watch those! 
She is so good at using the iPad and can pick it up, unlock it, get to videos, pick which movie she wants to watch, and then will go back and forth between chapters to find her favorite parts of movies, or watch her favorite songs.
Her favorite movies are: 'Tangled', 'Toy Story' and 'Toy Story 3', 'Cars' and 'Cars 2', 'Tarzan', 'Cinderella', 'Emporers New Groove', 'Mary Poppins', 'Charlotte's Web', 'Mulan', 'Finding Nemo', 'The Incredibles', 'Beauty and the Beast',  Etc... She's not very picky. Haha....

I can't believe she is almost 3! She is so much fun, even if she is so much work! =)
We love you Lucy Jane!

I still can't believe my little Clara-bear-a is old enough to be in Kindergarten! She has absolutely loved it. These two are pretty adorable walking to school every morning together! Another great soccer season! Tyler was roped into coaching Clara's team again and wins at the best dad and coach ever! He even took Rex with him to a bunch of games and coached while Rexy was strapped to him in the baby carrier! Dad of the year! (I was at piano lessons with Lucy!) hello!

it's me! I'm back. I have missed writing, so here I am. writing. so very much has happened since I first began this blog back in 2008! ah! almost 10 years ago. Time has seriously flown. I feel like I am a completely different person, and yet still exactly the same. Maybe just a little more perspective? That's a good thing right!? our family is still living the dream up here in North Dakota. We thought we were maybe coming up here for a year, and five and a half years later..... here we are! our kids have truly grown up here. Lucy is eight. Yes, eight! She has gotten to tall and gangly. She is wild and free, full of light, and joyful. Clara is six. She is full of FIRE, spice, and quite a bit of sass. She is fiercely loyal, tender, and a snuggler. Lucy is finally here!!

Lucy Jane Crosland February 25, 2009 1:23am 6 lbs 12 oz 18 inches long We would like to welcome our sweet little girl Lucy to the world! It was an eventful entrance she made and we're glad she is finally here and perfect! My water finally broke Tuesday afternoon so we went into the hospital about four and they decided to start me on pitocin since other than my water breaking not too much was going on-- after being on pitocin for about a 1/2 hr I was ready for my epidural! ((again- Im not quite sure how people do this naturally- I only had 30 minutes of real contractions and was ready for all the needles in the world!) The epidural was wonderful- I highly recommend it!! Well-- at midnight I had pretty much stalled out at being dialated at a 4.5--so the doctor came in and said that basically if I hadn't dialated in the next little while much it was most likely that they were going to do a C-section-- so for the next hour me, Ty and my mom just prayed that I was dialating, and I ...
