back to the Tetons!
We left Bear Lake Thursday morning and I packed the girls up and headed north to Victor, Idaho to spend a few days with one of my besties, Celeste! She's one of my Minot friends, but they own their home in Idaho and spend the summers there. We visited last summer and fell in love! Check out our last year's trip HERE. We knew we had to make it back, and lucked out with some pretty perfect timing!
We got there Thursday afternoon and spent the afternoon catching up while the kids played outside in her amazing backyard! She made us some fabulous pad thai for dinner and we walked over to their city's summer concert series in the park! The kids were in heaven with bounce houses, snow cones, and the funnest latin band ever!
So gorgeous!
The next morning we grabbed some lunch and headed into the Park! We did Jenny lake last year, but just played on the beach, so this year we decided to take the Ferry across the lake and hike to Hidden Falls! It was the perfect hike for the kids- about 1.5 miles round trip, and they all did so well! It was pretty hot, but up by the falls was nice and shadey with the mist from the falls! So needed. These girls had so much fun with Anson and Norah! Anson was there, just avoiding my camera at all costs! Haha!
Clara's been really into posing herself for pictures lately!
Ahhhh-- so glad we got to come back here! It's seriously unbelievably gorgeous!
We sang Frozen songs on the gorgeous drive into Jackson, stopped by the candy shop, toy shop, and had a yummy dinner at the Brewery! The kids were troopers, and I even avoided a Clara meltdown in the candy shop this year.... #winning
We put the kids to bed early and stayed up late chatting.
Saturday the kids played all morning while I got ready to go! It really is such a fun place for the kids to hang out. The girls love it!
We headed home Saturday afternoon and Clara insisted that she didn't need her 'car medicine' anymore. She's been pretty upset that she's had to take it the past few times, and is SO stubborn, so I finally gave in and said fine- don't take it. We didn't even turn on a movie until we were back on I-15 a couple hours into the drive, but sure enough--- 3 hours in, she puked everywhere. And then again when we pulled into Kaysville- threw up again! My little stubborn girl learned her lesson, and although I do feel so bad giving her Dramamine because it does make her so sleepy, she clearly hasn't grown out of it and still needs it! Luckily I've done the whole throw up in the car a time, or ten, so it really wasn't a big deal, but still-- after Lake Powell for 8 days, straight to Bear Lake for 5, then Idaho for 3, we were pretty tired by the time we made it back to Grandma's house! Haha!
Thank you again for having us Celeste! We can't wait for next year! ;-) Haha!
