South Dakota: Reptile Gardens
We were in South Dakota Sept 27-30th! We left Thursday afternoon, and I drove separately with Lucy and Clara, while Tyler drove in the peace and quiet of his car.... (We had to drive two different cars because I headed to Utah after for the St. George marathon, and Tyler headed home to work! Lame!) Anyway. We got there Thursday night and headed out for a yummy Mexican dinner. We were SO excited to see Grandma, Papa, and Blake! (Does anyone else even really count? Haha... Love you all!)
We crashed at our hotel and headed to Reptile Gardens!
Our favorite part, and by far what made it worth it to go was to see these giant Tortoises! You could go in and touch and pet them and see them walk around. They were HUGE! It was seriously awesome.
The kids had a blast, and one of them nearly scared Callie to death. I think she wasn't exactly sure that the thing she was petting was actually alive!
I'm not the hugest fan of snakes and spiders and reptiles in general... haha... but there were some super cool alligators/crocodiles and the kids love loved looking at all the snakes, bugs, birds, etc.. It was pretty empty since we went after the busy season, and we had the best weather.
I think this was the snake that is the same kind in the first Harry Potter movie... I'm that cool.
I love how the Crosland's travel, it's all very relaxed and we totally go off of the kids. and yes, Jessi is one of the kids! ;-)
Love this of Jeff and Jessi!
Bonnie's favorite part was the snake show! Haha. I'm surprised she even attended, and she definitely did NOT pet the snake like Lucy and Blake did! They LOVED it!
I'm so glad we got to go to the Reptile Gardens, the kids absolutely loved it and I would recommend it to anyone going to Mr. Rushmore!
Up next... Bear World!
