Finally Home!
After being in Utah for 5 weeks-- June 2-July 6, we packed up, and somehow, miraculously fit everything in 2 giant suitcases, and some hidden things in the mega blocks bag that my mom bought for the girls and everyone thought i was crazy for carrying it on the plane home!
(FYI it was the easiest carry on--- I had a huge stroller that it just sat on the whole time!)
another FYI-- getting on the plane on SLC I somehow managed to:
give the lady our tickets to board
fold my stroller down
get lucy's backpack on
get all of my crap off of the stroller
and carry ON the plane:
my cafe rio
my diet coke
the mega blocks bag
my diaper bag
my chunky 1 year old
and my 3 year old
i call that success people!!
here is a glimpse at my luggage... thanks to co co and my mom for basically packing my bags for me. roll people. always roll your clothes!
and we're on the plane... glory hallelujah!
people always look at your like you are crazy when you fly alone with 2 kids.
i got a LOT of condolences, and people seemed pretty impressed.
overall, it was a good self-esteem booster.
we were lucky enough to not have anyone sitting next to us, so Clara got her own seat! Yay!
Lucy immediately wanted her headphones and her ipod (my like 4 year old ipod touch....) and started listening to her 'princess songs'. She was singing along at the top of her lungs, and some old lady kept glaring at her. It was hilarious. Seriously people, she's 3 and it's the middle of the day on an airplane! Let's keep the kids happy!
Clara was EXHAUSTED to say the least. She was getting to be pretty grumpy, and after an hour of fighting it, miraculously fell asleep on my lap. For the first time in her entire LIFE. She has fallen asleep on Tyler before, but never me! It was so sweet, and such a needed break! The kids were Fine, but I was totally starting to go crazy when we finally made it Minneapolis. We had a couple hour lay over where I finished my Cafe Rio... Tear... and the girls had dinner.
On the flight from Minneapolis to Minot we had a HUGE plane. The last 3+ times I've been on that flight it's been like a 30 person plane, and we had this like 200+ seater AirBus that only had 37 people on it! It was awesome.
For some reason the girl sitting across from us had her daughter with her, and someone was sitting by the window too, and she didn't move to sit somewhere else on this HUGE empty plane! I felt so bad for this poor lady stuck by the window. This girl was so impatient with her daughter and it was so awkward... It made me be a LOT more patient with my girls-- who were clearly DONE traveling for the day, so we had a lot more fun after seeing what we probably looked like on the previous flight. Haha... I do love these girls, and they really did well for being on the plane all day!
While we were waiting for our stroller the captain took Lucy up to the cock pit to see where they drove the plane! Lucy thought it was so cool! (yes she is in a different outfit, she spilled her water all over her, so Luckily I packed an extra outfit for each girl, and even an extra shirt for me. Haha... I didn't have to use mine or Clara's, but I'm still glad I had them!)
A look at what we looked like traveling through the airports...
We made it home and Tyler had cleaned the whole house for us, went to the grocery store for me, and had gotten me roses! (And my mom had done all of our laundry for us the day before we left!) It was such a relief! You have NO idea... Tyler actually flew home only the day before us, I was so bummed we couldn't fly home together, but it was just how the flights worked out!
I was able to run with my friends the next morning, and the girls had a lazy day snuggling up to their dad!
we did manage to make it out for some DQ ice cream and a night at the park! Feels so good to be home! Such little cheesers...
Oh, and check out this video of Lucy at my mom's house.
She is listening to the iPad, and had already been doing this for like an hour. She literally sat on the stool in front of the iPad listening to princess songs and sang along to every one!

I am TOTALLY impressed with your airport skills. Amazing.
