Lake Powell 2012
Lake Powell 2012
June 8-15
We had SUCH a good time at Lake Powell this year! Holy cow-- we had been looking forward to this... well since last June, haha, and it was fabulous!
At the last minute we decided to leave Clara at home with my mom, and as much as I missed her, it was SO nice not to have to worry about my little busy bee. I think she sensed she was getting left behind, because this is her literally trying to climb into the car just before we left!
We made it there Friday afternoon and got everything all unloaded and ready to go! Saturday is the day we usually pull out of the marina, but it was supposed to be really windy that day, so we had some fun boat rides, and found an awesome beach for the kids to play for a couple hours.
Lucy, Cody, and Macey
(sidenote: Lucy's hair stayed in from Thursday night, until the next Friday night when we got home! Best thing I have ever done!)
Lake Powell is seriously the most gorgeous place on earth. It is pure Heaven to be there for a full week!
seriously- how cute is Blakey? She cracks me up.
cute Sandy who comes with us every year.
We always love to fish at Lake Powell, but this year I swear they caught 100x more than usual- the kids were thrilled with the 'Carpet' fish, and we had some very successful fishing with kiddie poles, and leftovers from the night before as bait!
this year the water was SO clear. Seriously- you could see the bottom of the lake up to like 30 feet deep, it was Crazy!! I didn't love that you could see all the fish swim by, but it was so nice and clean!
Sunday morning we pulled out bright and early, and Lucy had a blast helping Papa drive the big boat!
This year in honor of the Olympics, we had a little Patriotic theme. The kids all got darling outfits, and we got shirts, of course! We of course had Olympic games, but that will have to wait until next post!
Kim-dad, Tyler, and Linda-ma
we LOVE the Accolade!
To be continued...

Looks like so much fun...I have only been to Lake Powell once, when I was a little girl! How exciting that you have the chance to go every year, and give your girls the opportunity to learn how to fish/boat etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you've had such a fun trip back in Utah! Every day I think to myself "I wonder what's on Carly's agenda today..." :)
You seriously have the cutest family! Looks like you had a great vacation! Ya gotta love Lake Powell!!
