the 3rd of July!

Clara playing in my mom's backyard-- she was literally eating sand by the handfuls. Awesome! 

I love love love the 4th of July. The 3rd of July is almost just as good! We went swimming during the day at Surf n' Swim and that night we crashed my parents house by having a BBQ there with our friends the Oborns, and Williams, and my brother Shawn's family, and Tyler's sister's Amy's family. We had a great time seeing them all one more time!

 afterwards we headed up the Eaglewood Fireworks-- so much fun! we were able to sit by our cute friends the Smoots, Petersons, and Oborns, and got to see lots of other cute friends too!
 it was the most gorgeous night!
 both girls LOVED the fireworks, and cute Clara just kept saying "WOOOOWW!!" the whole time. It was so cute!
Such a fun night with friends! I'm so glad we got to be in Utah for the 4th!

    Looks like you had a blast celebrating Independence Day! (it just wouldn't have been the same celebrating in North Dakota, I'm sure!) I love your girls' holiday outfits, and your firework picture is amazing.

I still can't believe my little Clara-bear-a is old enough to be in Kindergarten! She has absolutely loved it. These two are pretty adorable walking to school every morning together! Another great soccer season! Tyler was roped into coaching Clara's team again and wins at the best dad and coach ever! He even took Rex with him to a bunch of games and coached while Rexy was strapped to him in the baby carrier! Dad of the year! (I was at piano lessons with Lucy!) hello!

it's me! I'm back. I have missed writing, so here I am. writing. so very much has happened since I first began this blog back in 2008! ah! almost 10 years ago. Time has seriously flown. I feel like I am a completely different person, and yet still exactly the same. Maybe just a little more perspective? That's a good thing right!? our family is still living the dream up here in North Dakota. We thought we were maybe coming up here for a year, and five and a half years later..... here we are! our kids have truly grown up here. Lucy is eight. Yes, eight! She has gotten to tall and gangly. She is wild and free, full of light, and joyful. Clara is six. She is full of FIRE, spice, and quite a bit of sass. She is fiercely loyal, tender, and a snuggler. Lucy is finally here!!

Lucy Jane Crosland February 25, 2009 1:23am 6 lbs 12 oz 18 inches long We would like to welcome our sweet little girl Lucy to the world! It was an eventful entrance she made and we're glad she is finally here and perfect! My water finally broke Tuesday afternoon so we went into the hospital about four and they decided to start me on pitocin since other than my water breaking not too much was going on-- after being on pitocin for about a 1/2 hr I was ready for my epidural! ((again- Im not quite sure how people do this naturally- I only had 30 minutes of real contractions and was ready for all the needles in the world!) The epidural was wonderful- I highly recommend it!! Well-- at midnight I had pretty much stalled out at being dialated at a 4.5--so the doctor came in and said that basically if I hadn't dialated in the next little while much it was most likely that they were going to do a C-section-- so for the next hour me, Ty and my mom just prayed that I was dialating, and I ...
